Decent Course, Fantastic Views 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 15, 2018 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

This is one of the most scenic courses I've played, and the closest to beach-front golf outside of Florida. Great lake/dam views. Decent tee signs, and course signage pointing to next tee. Baskets are new Mach V's. Layout is a great mix of short putter shots with a 550'+ open bomber hole that feels like you could throw right into the lake (although the lake is like 500' away at it's nearest point.). Small change in elevation, and mix of wooded and open holes.

Cons:

No tee pads, but only the wooded holes could use them with small rocks around the tee signs. I played in early March, but I'm sure in the summer, the wooded holes could hide a variety of wildlife (snakes) and the thorn bushes could be a problem (wasn't a problem in March). There was also a volleyball net post near hole one, so that may come into play if it gets set up. This is a multi-use area, with a playground, multiple parking lots, and basically a mile of lake front access adjacent to the course, so fishermen could be walking to their car and walk right through a fairway without knowing about it.

Other Thoughts:

There is a practice basket behind the bathrooms, just kinda hidden in the forest. Hole 8 is across the road. You'll notice once you play. The baskets aren't easily seen from the "tee box" but a quick walk up the fairway should offer a view of the basket. If you are determining which course to play in Warsaw, make it this one. Benches and plenty of parking. Also plenty of other on site activities, such as the dam visitor center, and plenty of fishing. Water pump on site.
