The nice thing about Sherwood Oaks is that they had plenty of space, but didn't try to shoe-horn in more than nine holes of disc golf. Avoiding temptation is good for a church grounds activity. There is a TON of parking here, and the course starts by a couple of picnic tables and a nice kiosk sign and map behind the basketball court at the eastern side of the huge lot.

The course features decent, level, concrete tees, good tee signs (properly placed) and 18 chain DGA baskets. The shot selection is a little limited by the openness of the space and the intended audience (casual to possibly Recreational level players). Hole distances are short, with three holes being less than 200' and two right at 300'. About half the holes require a modicum of line shaping as they weave between or just into some of the tree lines.

The grounds are very well kept, and there is no underbrush, meaning it's nearly impossible to lose a disc. Again, great for beginners and families.

The lack of distance and elevation means this course isn't meant for Intermediate players or above.

Even though it was my fourth course of the day, I'm glad I stopped in to 'complete the set'. This course is simple and easy enough not to be too draining, even on an old guy like me. Finally, disc golfers, please be respectful while here, and we should probably not come to play while church is in session. It's hard not to notice that the course starts and ends near the large cross in the field, with its benches for worship...
