Pros:

Course is located in an unused park with two sets of cement tees and a tall wooden post by each tee. The park is nicely taken care of and seems to have very low traffic.

Cons:

This course is very boring...the two sets of tees don't really add much variety. It's very open and has no elevation changes. I guess the course designer used the space wisely...it's just really lame. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to play here.

Other Thoughts:

I don't really think there's much else to say. I uploaded pictures of the front 9 so you guys can see for yourself. I would have played the back 9 but it's basically the same thing as the front 9 and I got bored.

If you're in the area, play some of the powerhouse courses (Pekin, Bradley, Morton, or Eureka) and avoid this one.

short little beginner course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 8, 2009 Played the course:once

Pros:

-very easy layout to follow
-facilities include bathrooms and water some trashcans by pavilions
-very quick play: less than half an hour to play
-tee signs describing the holes are adequate
-nice views of the Illinois River
-public pool in park (this is a pro when it's 90 degrees outside :))
-good beginner course
-well maintained

Cons:

-ridiculously short-there wasn't a hole over 280', most were under 200'
-rutted natural tee pads, a lot of times the pads were right by trees so there were tree roots exposed in the pads.
-very monotonous-almost every hole was a straight putter or roc shot with a fair number of trees on 1-5, and fairly open from there on.
-The tee sign for 8 was missing.
-There is a walking trail winding through holes 1-5, and hole 1 plays over it. Be careful of pedestrians.

Other Thoughts:

-This is a fun ace run beginner course in a nice park.
