Pros:

18 portable Pro 28 Discatcher baskets with tee post/signs. Ok course for it's intended audience of recreational players with some varying mostly par 3 distances and a few tree obstacles in the mostly wide open space and non-elevated terrain, also has an "island" on hole 5.

Scenic views of the Swan Creek from the cliff. Restrooms and course map available in the MWR Center.

Cons:

Unmarked natural tee pads other than the tee sign/post in the vicinity. Currently about half of the tee signs have blown off the posts. Course map comes in handy as navigation is not marked or not entirely intuitive. Relatively long walk from hole 12 to 13 and 18 to 1/parking lot. Someone is going to throw into the pool on hole 11 and possibly the basketball court and likely the baseball field.

Pretty much completely flat on the course, despite the cool ravine between 13 and 14 and the cliff overlooking the Swan Creek. Not very challenging for intermediate or high level players unless the wind is whipping.

Other Thoughts:

Course is set in a small recreational park on the US Army's Aberdeen Proving Ground which is the oldest proving ground in the US, and known for manufacturing and testing of chemical weapons such as VX, sarin, Mustard, and Agent Orange.

While playing you might hear/feel some rather loud munitions explosions - I did. It was also crazy windy when I played which exposed the mostly wide open course and made it play rather tough especially considering I only brought my putter - wish I was putting with my Firebird. I almost aced hole 5 on the island skipping off the top of the basket.

While there are some safety issues with the course, I'd consider the course as "passable" since it's not likely to ever be busy or have your typical inconsiderate chuckers playing here. I'd really only recommend playing here if you are on base/nearby or have OCD about playing every course you can.
