Good for its intended purpose 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 21, 2020 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

This course is in a safe area, the baskets are good, and the course is very well maintained.

Cons:

It is not a course for everyone. If you are a 900+ player you will be able to shoot low without much difficulty. Ace runs on every hole. The holes lack variety as most are in a field with nothing between you and the basket, not very exciting.

Other Thoughts:

I mostly made this review for this section. No question their are harder more interesting courses out there. Their are at least 5 (not including alt layouts) within 30 minutes of this one. But, this course serves its purpose well. It is the best place I have found to introduce players to the game. It is open, short, and is not intimidating. I have tried to teach people on other "easy" courses, usually it doesn't go great. It could be because it took them 10 throws to finish the first hole, they got cold feet from a bunch of players with bags playing disc golf for their 100th time, or they had to pay to play. None of these things are bad they just do not get new players excited about the game in my experience. This is a course for players to learn and honestly I have not found many courses that make that easy.

The tamed shrew 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 23, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

This is a short course tucked between baseball and football fields around the high school and middle school. It's pretty short and is a good introduction for kids to the sport.

Hole 2 is a fun shot off of a ledge with a lone tree forcing a line.

Baskets are Discatchers. There are tee signs that indicate where the tees are and have distances.

Cons:

The tees are gravel and about 4 feet long, although there is no call for anything other than a standstill drive here. The holes range from about 125-200 feet.

Navigation is a little weird after the first five holes. You need to walk along the track to play the final three holes near the middle school.

Other Thoughts:

The directions on the site are a little misleading. When you park between the two schools, walk along the back of the high school (past the three basketball hoops), not toward the football field.

This course serves a niche, and I'd be happy to have this close to my house to work on approach shots and my mediocre forehand. But there isn't much to see here if you don't live nearby. I do hope that school courses like this become more commonplace.
