Renaissance Fair > DG 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Apr 20, 2019 Played the course:once

Pros:

Apparently, they pull the course and put it back in every year for an annual Renaissance Fair. Seriously??? The course is set in a pretty multi-use park. Two sets of turf tees marked by white and blue mini flags. Nice fresh baskets. There is a good mix of hole types and distances. The course was free of litter and well maintained. Plenty of picnic tables and some cool chill spots. The course offers a healthy challenge for lower skill levels and more advanced players will like the longer tees. Friendly locals and a top local league. Dang Broward County, you have it going on!

Cons:

Now for the bad news. The turf tees are mostly worn down. I would guess that this course is getting concrete tees before too long and hopefully makes full-time status. There are no tee signs or course map sign. There are a few next arrow signs under some baskets but at least one pointed the wrong way, so navigation will be difficult to impossible for first-timers. There are a couple of unmarked long walks between holes 5-6, 7-8, and 10-11 for starters. The course plays dangerously close to roads and picnic areas. Waiting will occur as oblivious non-dgers park in the fairways and wander through the course. We had to skip one hole.

Other Thoughts:

The potential is here for a higher rated course. Traveling throwers are strongly encouraged to get a guide or play with some locals the first time around.

Great Start 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Dec 15, 2018 Played the course:once

Pros:

+The course takes you through a good portion of the north end of the park
+Good diversity of basket locations, some of which are lefty-friendly
+Arrows on the basket pointing to the next set of tees
+Holes 9, 13, and 15 (fun par 4 holes)
+Added "No Parking" signs around certain holes
+Added concrete tee pads (AM and Pro) on all holes

Cons:

-Lack of general signage can make the course layout somewhat confusing, especially for first-timers; bring the course map and caddie notes with you until these signs are in place.
-There are no restrooms or water fountains after hole 6 in close proximity to the course. There are plenty of woods along the way, however.
-Park events and attendees can limit or cut off part of the course. I suggest playing during weekdays or early mornings on the weekends to play the entire course with little interruption.
-A few of the holes run alongside the main road, which can get busy with cars throughout the day.

Other Thoughts:

I've wanted a course at Quiet Waters for a long time, and I'm stoked we finally have one! The park was already awesome prior to this new course, but this gives me more reason to visit the park on a regular basis!

Please keep in mind that the course is still in its early stages at the time of this review and doesn't have all the bells and whistles of some of the more established courses (Tradewinds, Easterlin, Snyder, etc.) in the area. Also, the course is inaccessible during their annual Renaissance Festival (February-April), so plan your outings accordingly.
