Designer Reviewing

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 26, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

- Incredible scenery and views, especially from the back nine
- Great range of shots
- Good mix of par 3's, 4's and 5's
- Immaculate condition
- A long test for better intermediate to advanced players. Lots of options for lengthening for tournaments to a gold level layout.
- 9 hole red layout for families and people looking for a quicker round
- Golf carts available for hire
- stocked pro shop and cafe

Cons:

- Price, one of the most expensive in the country
- Length - you need a level of stamina for this course - don't expect to play three rounds in a day
- Tees are the golf tees although teeing area moves around to manage erosion
- Course only open from 1 each day for Disc Golf

Other Thoughts:

Silver Birch is a stunner. Easily accessible from Liverpool and Manchester it's on the edge of the rolling Welsh hills looking out to the Irish Sea and it is truly beautiful.

Hole 11 is the signature hole on the course, a 240 meter dogleg par 4 that plays downhill down a tree lined fairway for 160 meters before doglegging to the right. The views from the tee are breathtaking and the hole's a pleasure to play after.

There is a great mix of holes here and teh elevation comes into play all over the course.

It's currently the longest permanent layout in the UK and you will be very tired after one round let alone two.

As it runs parallel to the golf course you might expect wide open and boring shots but Silver Brich is blessed with narrow tree lined fairways and superb elevation changes that allowed a real freedom with basket placement to create superb and memorable holes. Holes 13 and 14 diverge from the golf fairways and charge off into the woods for a more traditional Disc Golf feel.

Highly recommend getting out here to play if you have the chance
