Awesome Course for Teaching Disc Golf to Kids 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 19, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

- Great course for people learning to play disc golf or sharpening their game.
- Baskets are all in good shape
- Park and course are clean
- Course is not crowded at all
- Nice big trees on the course provide some shade and a few obstacles.
- Some baskets have little plastic arrows showing you where to tee off next.

Cons:

- Not very challenging for those who are more seasoned players
- No tee pads or markers letting you know where to tee off
- Complete lack of any signage.
- Only 7 baskets

Other Thoughts:

I took my 4 year old daughter to this course as I was looking for something with shorter holes so we didn't wear out her little arm. Rockburn and Kinder Farm tend to be too long for her to play more than 6-9 holes. Silver Creek ended up being the perfect course for her.

The course is set in the middle of a park in a neighborhood. There are some paved roads around the course, but they are closed off to motorized vehicles. The park is very well maintained and the baskets seemed to be in fairly good shape. My daughter really enjoyed playing on holes that were not 300 - 400 feet long and having to throw the disc 20 or so times. She said "I wanna come here again soon Dadda!" so I guess the course gets her seal of approval.

The only thing I was disappointed with was the complete lack of tee boxes or markers. We kinda just winged it when it came to teeing off. That isn't a big deal when playing with a 4 year old, but for those who are a little more advanced in their play, it's nice to know where you should be throwing from instead of making it up.

Overall, the course is nice and I plan on going back, but only when my daughters are in tow. With only 7 baskets and the short distance to throw, it probably wouldn't be worth my time. I'd rather put in 18 at Rockburn, Kinder Farm, or Druid Hill. when in the area.
