very nice course brand new must play 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Dec 5, 2010 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Beautiful course laid out in a very large well kept, maintained, and used park. course plays along 3 different lakes with plenty of obs's.only 3 miles off of hwy 70 in highland, sweet.

Cons:

not much yet.. hole 5 tee pad may become a issue if it rains alot . fairway looks like a wash of some sort .

Other Thoughts:

brand new course just installed. plays good. only walk up preceeding holes 2 times. ..lefty friendly on front 2-9.. many birdies chances plus some good long holes also.. approx.5600 ft par 56.. looks like possible multi pin placement markings too. another great course design by gateway disc sports... must come and play. will give it a 4 when footage and tee signs are installed.

Infancy 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Dec 1, 2010 Played the course:once

Pros:

This course has good flow to it. Great scenery and it also provides great wind play this time of year(Dec).

The front 9 provides several way placed basket that are deuce-able if you have a good drive. I don't remember exactly but their were 2 I could remember that would be give-me 2's. This sets you up for the back 9. Their is more length and these are harder. Of course their are a few deuce holes. All in All, I would say competitive rounds would be around par(54) for advanced players. I would say most pro's would shoot 48-52

Cons:

It is a new course. My rating is not skewed by the cons because I played the course like 2 days after the baskets were put in. The 18th basket was also put in by the time I played.

Yes, some paths are unclear, no trash cans, no "established" tee boxes just flags and stakes, some benches on fairways, some minor flooding, blah blah new course. If this course was a year old and these were still issues, yes the ratings should be lower

Other Thoughts:

Solid 4 star and should remain this after the course is completely finished. I also heard that additional pin placements or tees are already being thought of. So This course can truly become one of the best in a few years.

Update- For shame, drop the course in and do nothing to improve it.

Silver Lake DGC 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Nov 30, 2010 Played the course:once

Pros:

I really enjoyed playing this course! Situated around Silver Lake, the course runs up and down the grounds, making you throw down towards the lake, up through tight technical fairways. Several pin placements against the water. There are many really cool tee and pin placements here. This course has a few long holes, but the way it's put together, overall this is a finesse course. A lot of placement shots, control drives here. All in all, this is a course of really neat holes.

Cons:

A few of the tees are quite close to one another. One of the holes had a picnic bench in the fairway. And 18's basket was missing. (?) Tee posts are in, tee's are spraypaint right now, but they do point almost exactly at the pin (so that's good).

Other Thoughts:

Being brand new, there are no trashcans. I think I saw a restroom, not sure if it was open. While not overly difficult to figure out, directional signs, tee signs, etc. would be awesome.
