Pros:
Silver Mountain was a nice stop just over the bridge into the U.P. in an area without too many DG options. There are a variety of shots and a lot of elevation in play. There are a number of wooded uphill shots, and a 600' downhill bomber that you'd expect from any course on a ski hill. The course is very scenic and a good hike.
Finding and navigating the course was generally easy, with a slight mistake on hole 8. We threw to the more visible C basket and took some time to realize our error.
The view of the lake from 15's basket area is spectacular!
Cons:
Uneven, rocky and rutty natural pads made accuracy difficult on the uphill holes, as well as a few others.
Hole 3 was not as shown on the map, just an extremely short throw to a basket in a field. This was confusing and disappointing.
There was a lot of trash and litter on the course. The one trash can we saw had been dumped out and left on its side.
Ticks.
Other Thoughts:
Scenic vistas and challenging elevation play make Silver Mountain worth the hike to stop there once. Ankle twister pads and tiny bloodsuckers make it unlikely that we'll be back for a second round.
