Dink, Dunk, Dodge 2+ years

Pros:
+ Nine baskets, with natural tees featuring good signage, in a loop around a pretty wooded park
+ There are a few good beginner holes here (#1, #3, #9 come to mind - they're in the 200' - 250' range, straight with rough or woods along one side, and they look like disc golf holes)
+ Hole #6 is a 117' par 2. It's nothing special (slightly right, slightly downhill, behind some bushes), but it's worth praising because someone accurately rated it a par 2

Cons:
- The rough has been allowed to grow wild. It completely obscures baskets on several holes, and makes the intended line on #2 impossible for anything but a towering 300' uphill spike hyzer. If you've got that shot, use it - otherwise you dink and dunk along a walking path. Get good at that - you'll have to do it on a few later holes too
Other Thoughts:
~ Small, busy park with walkers, picnickers to dodge. Most egregious is hole #8 with a blind throw up to a green bordering the main picnic/activity area
~ I found a fun challenge in "breaking down" poorly designed holes, dinking and dunking very short placement tee shots to give me a clear run for birdie or a drop-in par

Pros:
Many friendly dog-walkers and their friendly dogs.

Small trees directly in front of tee #2 that will become a wall in a future. Tee #4 has similar issues, with the trees a bit farther away.
If hole #7 is playable (flooded when I was there), don't play it. Even if you can manage to throw the boomerang-shaped right-turning shot, the bulk of the fairway is blind, narrow ... and a walking path.

Other Thoughts:
Course plays in a clockwise loop in a small public, set on a flat plateau, with a wide/deep stream along one side, but not in play. Most holes are flat (except #8), short (except #5), and require minimal shape (except ridiculous #7).
Unfortunately, most holes (1-7) are located near a commonly used walking path, or other park features (8=bench, 9=horseshoe pit/shelter)

While visibility is mostly good, except for #'s 7-8, the course is tightly intertwined with a walking path. Plus, there is a nice picnic bench just short/left of basket #5, in perfect range of the common man's hyzer drive.

Pretty little course with some issues 2+ years

Pros:
Simpson Park is a quick 9-hole spin in a pretty park. Most of the course is on an elevated area above the floodplain next to Yellow Breeches Creek (but see Cons). Baskets are level and caught well.
Tees are marked with an informative sign mounted on a post. Tee signs include a map of the hole, distance, and the chosen "par" for the hole.

Cons:
Potential safety issues are present throughout the course. The first six holes play over walking paths. On a warm March weekend lots of non-disc golfers were out walking dogs and strolling the paths. Hole 8 is a blind shot up a tunnel, so it is a good idea to scout ahead to make sure it is safe to throw. Hole 9 has a pair of horseshoe pits not far from the basket.
When I visited Hole 7 was unplayable without waders because the basket and most of the fairway were swamped. To be fair, the area had experienced heavy rains recently and Hole 7 is the only hole in the floodplain near the creek. If Hole 7 had been playable, I am not sure I could make a disc fly the intended flight path. The tee shot requires a sharp right turn off tee, and then the disc would need to follow a straight path the rest of the way to the basket. Since the hole is only 196' it seems silly to lay up at the turn.
Hole 2 has small trees near the tee that may obstruct flight lines to the basket as the trees grow.
Many holes play over meadow areas. It was not difficult to find wayward discs in the winter, but risk of disc loss may be much higher in summer when the grass gets tall and low bushes leaf out.

Most holes are short: four around 200' or less, four around 250', and the longest hole is 341'. Natural tee pads were in decent shape. Plenty of opportunities to meet friendly dogs.
