Pros:
- Brand new DISCatcher baskets that are easy to see
- Very nice park
Cons:
- Not directly a con, but a restroom somewhere and water would be nice.
Other Thoughts:
The course is brand new and not everything is in place yet (or so it appears).
- Since the course is so new, the tee pads are still ok and flat - a little muddy in places - but the ground underneath is quite stable. I actually prefer these kinds of teepads as long as they remain even.
The tees are marked with two large cement slabs next to a wooden pole with the tee marker taped to it. The tee markers will hopefully be replaced with more permanent signs, but at least they have the tee # on them and a link to a website with the course map - better than nothing at all.
- The holes are pretty long, but still all par 3 - this makes it a challenge even for experienced players to make par and for beginners you at least get a very nice walk in a beautiful forest.
- Arrows with direction to the next tee in the baskets are for some holes pointing in the wrong direction, so bringing a map is a must on the first visit.
I played this hole once alone and then teamed up with two other guys I met in the parking lot and did two more rounds - in a group with other people, the few trees does turn out to be a factor, even though none of the holes are really that tight and wooded, you will hit a branch or tree here and there if a shot doesn't go exactly to plan.
It's also really hard to loose a disc here. The first three holes does play near the lake, but only a bad placement shot followed by a shot with a flippy disc into headwind on #2 would be an issue for most - the rest of the course playes through a fairly open beech forest with no real shrubbery to think of to eat your disc.
