This is a fun, punishing, frustrating, rewarding course. So many blind tee shots means I'll make it a point to never play for $$$ against a local! Aside from some navigation issues and minor flooding this is a great course. Adding some "next tee" signs would help a ton for first time players, but the course map is accurate enough to make locating tee pads a minor inconvenience.

This course is tough! I'm a ~900 player and this course tested every shot in my bag and all the patience I could muster. If you like a challenge this course is for you.

During my round I had a ~10 minute rain shower hit, luckily I was putting on hole 5 and was able to hide out in a bus stop until the shower passed but when I got back into the woods the mud was significant, mainly on the walk between holes. This is a issue that's tough to fix. But, with that being said if it's dry out definitely stop in and check this course out!

There are plenty of pros for this course. The first of which is it has all concrete tees. Also this isn't a traditional par 54. Some things that I really liked about this course were the design of the holes that weren't straight ahead. On a majority of the hyzer shots, large portions of the trees from the tee blocked the pin so you couldn't see them. I really appreciated this because it made you rely on pure skill and planning to make the perfect shot. Something great I learned about this course that I didn't know until playing with a few locals are that there are some amazing alternate routes that can leaved you parked on a lot of holes that would normally be a long 2. HB really did his best with the land he was given; there are plenty of elevation changes, hyzer shots, anhyzer shots and OB.

Holes 3-6 were nice holes but in reality they didn't seem to fit the rest of the course; they are where you need to gain strokes though. The course isn't finished yet; it has only been in for about a month or so. The sub contractor that was used just cut down all the brush in the fairways and instead of removing it, they just pushed it to the edges of the fairway. This makes it incredibly hard to find and/or get to a disc that has gone off the fairway. The routes aren't beaten in yet so sometimes you may not know where to really throw it. On a few holes you can actually see a pin from another hole instead of yours and you might find yourself throwing to in on accident.

I really had to digest this course before I chose to write the review. It isn't in prime shape yet and I don't think it will be for at least 5 more years. I can see the greatness it will achieve, but it is far from that at this point. The fairways aren't very flat (loaded with small rocks and boulders) so there are several tripping hazards, but I think it will work its way into one of the top courses in Bowling Green.

BGTC has 18 holes of challenging, but fair disc golf. 4 holes play across grassy campus fields with a couple of mature trees here and there to avoid. The other 14 holes play in some dense woods behind the campus. This is a new course but a lot of work has been done already to make this a good course. Many of the woods fairways had to be carved out of (bulldozed?) the woods. But what I really liked is the shape and length of the fairways is unique and many trees were left in the middle of the fairway in very strategic positions (I think I hit every one!) There is not mega-elevation here, but enough to add variety and challenge.

I really enjoyed how you have to play for 3's or 4's on several holes. Accurate and planned shot placement is a must, or you will find yourself in the rough losing strokes. There are not many birdie opportunities here, so scoring low should challenge most everybody.

The course has 18 new Discatcher baskets. It only has 17 concrete tees, but I know #1's tee will be put in eventually (it was actually smart to wait on it, so it wouldn't get destroyed by construction vehicles.) When finished and open, there will be a nice parking lot off campus (so you don't have to worry about finding a spot, getting a ticket, etc.). It will be on Morgantown Rd. (Hwy 231) right across from the Minit Mart. The course loops back to the parking lot after 9, so you could start one 1 or 10 once this lot is opened.

Missing #1 tee (explained above.) No tee signs yet, but it is obvious they are coming, many have the frames already, and most others have the holes dug for the posts.

The course looks like it is under major construction (because it is!!!). It is muddy, trees and brush are not removed, just pushed aside. It is also winter, so the woods holes lack aesthetic qualities right now. Hopefully by the summer of 2012 it will look fantastic.

There is a fence between #2 and #3. You have to walk a long ways up #15's fairway to a gap in the fence- dangerous and out of the way. This will probably be fixed sometime, however.

There was a sweet looking pond by #8 that would have been awesome to have to throw over, but it does not even come close to coming into play. Oh well!!!

***Update, I have been told that #1 tee is in, so are the signs, and the fence is gone!!! Can't wait to get back and play it again.***

Though not finished, this course is still playable. Print out a map and you will have no problems navigation. This might just be the toughest course in Bowling Green (not counting Holler in the Hills).

Right now you can park in the gravel lot at the back of campus (which is just a few buildings and one main road through the middle) by hole #6 and 7 and start there or #14. We played on Saturday and parked near hole #3 and started there, but you could also start on #15 or 16 from here if you walk through the gap in the fence.

I agree with what the other reviewers said, but I feel that they're rating is based on potential, which is fine, but I am rating it based on how it is at this time. I will definitely be back as this will be added into my rotation when I visit BG.
