Decent course for Rochester 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 24, 2011 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

This course is great for beginners and intermediate players. To summarize some of the pros:

- Easy access to the park
- Play very quickly (this could be a con)
- Concrete tees
- River runs through it

Cons:

I'm not super picky when it comes to courses, however, here are a few that I noticed:
-Minimal signage
-Lots of trash around the park
-Only 9 holes
-Mostly simple holes and no signature holes at all

Other Thoughts:

This course isn't overly amazing, but it's worth a play if you're in Rochester. The river does add a slight element of difficulty for LHBH players on holes #5, #6. Overall, it's not a bad course, but like others have said, I would like to see an 18 hole course here in Rochester.

Also, this course would fine for a warm before heading to Bear Cave Park in Stewartville :)

Fun 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Aug 11, 2010 Played the course:once

Pros:

An open course, but with plenty of trees to make you think about your shots. Not overly long, but still long enough where you can have some fun. Which two sets of tees you can play the course twice and each hole will seem different.

Cons:

No real elevation change and the course was pretty short. It wasn't the most challenging, but fun on a hot day. Finding it with out good directions can be hard. Plan your trip there is you are not from Rochester.

Other Thoughts:

Fun course that was just challenging enough to make it fun.

Not too shabby 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 25, 2008 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

A few shots near the river and #9 that crosses the river is fun. Easy to navigate where to go on this course.
Good course to practice your approach shots and putts.

Cons:

Course is really short, most big arms can leave their drivers in their vehicles.
There is virtually no elevation change on this course.

Other Thoughts:

Having a few more holes and another bridge that crossed the river would make this course more appealing.

A River Runs Through It.... 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 22, 2008 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Good concrete multiple tees & permanent signs denoting hole numbers. Some challenging holes around trees & along Bear Creek, esp. from the tips.

Cons:

Gets quite a bit of play & there is some local park traffic. The signs don't give the par & yardage.

Other Thoughts:

Though not a long course, it has enough on it to keep your attention. Bear Creek can swallow a lot of discs if you have a bad throw. Seems to be well maintained by the Park dept. Overall it's a nice 9-hole layout. Rochester really needs an 18-hole disc course to keep up with it's growing popularity.
