Open to public and easy access. Plays on and across downhill ski slopes so not much interference from other users.

Pay-to-play mainained by Spitit Mnt so regularly maintained and usually in good condition. Newer Mach II baskets and paver tee pads on all holes. Faiways, including grassy ski slopes and wooded areas the course plays across were all nicely cleared and mowed on 8/24.

Course has been in delvelopment and continually changing and improving over the past couple of years. I think it's shaping up to be an excellent destination course that could be used for tournaments. Most holes are not super long and are very playable for intermediate players, and a real good variety of challenging holes for advanced players.

Pay-to-play ($6) course on Spirit Mnt. ski hill property, but open to the public. Sometimes closed when Mnt. bike events are being held on weekends so call ahead to check schedule if coming from out of town. Closed during winter ski season. They start making snow mid Nov.

Not a quick easy play. Requires a pretty rigorous 2+ mile hike up and down ski slopes. Plan on at least 1.5 hours and a challenging walk to play. Hiking boots and water recommended.

Generally not much interefence from other people, but Spirit Mnt. mountain bike trails run through parts of the course so occasionally will need to wait a few seconds for bikers to go by.

Good layout and pathways between holes, but signs are minimal and temporary. You will need a map or guide for sure the first time playing... lots of space between holes.

Can be tough to find errently thrown discs on a few holes, especially into thick wooded area along long downhill holes. Currently really good mowing of grassy areas near fairways.

A couple of newer holes are playable, but are still being worked on. The course is always being worked on and improving.

A very good public pay-for play destination course requiring a +2 mile hike up and down steep slopes to play. Good Exercise and some fantastic views.

Amazing views and beautiful grounds. Lots of fun, challenging shots. There's a bar restaurant on site. Dog friendly. Recommended if you want a challenging hike.

The course has been different every time I played it over a couple years. Sometimes parts of the course are closed. Difficult terrain.

-Rough can eat discs, it's wise to pack a couple discs you can afford to lose to throw on downhill bomber holes and other holes too
-Distances on signs are almost all off. Most holes are a bit longer than the posted distance
-Navigation is difficult without the map, make sure to bring one along
-A couple short woods holes are poke & hope

Spirit Mountain is a great experience overall and definitely worth playing. As far as the golf goes, it's not overwhelming or super challenging, but it will keep you interested. It's definitely fun and gives a pretty good alpine-style experience, but at around 2,000 feet or less the air isn't thin and so you won't gasp for air and your discs will still turn over when thrown on an anhyzer. The view from the middle holes of Lake Superior and Duluth is superb and probably worth the $6 green fee. The grass isn't cut too too often so it can take extra minutes to find discs sometimes, and the rough on several holes is thick enough to make discs vanish. Restrooms at the Chalet when it's open and a bar too.

Mowed nicely now. When grass gets long can be a nightmare looking for discs off fairway, and in thick woods. Very fun and challenging course! Great season pass rate. $49

Good variety of hyzer/anhyzer drives. Opportunities for forehand and backhand. Nice use of trees and open space. Challenging, well defended pins, and nice baskets but could benefit from alternate placement. Well-manicured. Large paver tee pads on 1-9 (more to come). Good recycling/trash but needs more. Good signage. Even though the course ends with hole 12, you get to play 6-9 down the hill right now. Very scenic. Relatively close to town- Nice bar. Nice price.

Need to finish 13-18 and beyond. Mountain bike congestion on hole 1. Bring bug spray. I disagree with the review below that says it is better than Mont Du Lac. Maybe someday, but there is still a ways to go to beat what MDL provides in terms of overall experience.

Actually a good mix of wooded and open holes. Distances are reachable for all players, yet tough enough to challenge experienced players. Well worth the $4 entry, even with a limited number of holes (currently 12).

Better than, cheaper than, closer than, and friendlier than Mont du Lac. Of course that's my opinion.
