St. James Church DGC is a pretty basic 9 hole course that plays mostly on the open grounds west of the church/school. The course is mostly wide open. They do incorporate some trees on the last five holes at least. There's not a single one in play for the first four though.

The baskets are pretty decent. Not sure what kind they are but they catch pretty well. They look like a Mach V clone actually. They're all green on the tops and cages. Doesn't help them stand out or anything, but they do look nice. One basket and pin placement per hole.

The tees are wood pavers marking the front end of the tee. These are easy enough to spot from a distance. Each of these has the hole # in orange on the right and a par and distance placard on the left. More than serviceable for a course like this. One tee pad location per hole. The actual tee surfaces are all in solid shape still too.

The design is decent for the limited space available. Good flow from hole to hole for the most part. I'd still recommend having a map available for speed of play. It's not totally intuitive, but isn't totally obvious either.

The course is free to play and has been in great shape each of the times I've played it. Not far from a few other options either, most notably Mount Simon, which is only ten minutes away.

Limited availability. The course is at a church. It's also an elementary school so I'd assume it's probably frowned upon to play when school is in session.

The parking lot and exit driveway come into play at various points. Also the streets on the west and north side of the property. It'd be nice if they had moved the baskets a little further away from these issues, especially being at an elementary school.

Hole 5 has you throwing really close to the corner of the playground area. Just renumbering the holes and moving a tee location would eleviate this. It'd also void one of the more unique shot shapes on the course, even if it is a bit sketchy.

Hole 9 plays too close to a neighboring property for my liking. It is a decent hole, but it still shouldn't be there imo.

This is a decent little course, even with the cons I have listed. It's probably rarely ever busy outside of school hours anyway. Not worth going out of your way for but if you're in the area it doesn't take more than 30 minutes or so to play. That said, it's just not too exciting. It IS another course in a surprisingly weak area of WI for disc golf.
