Very well kept course. Nice layout and use of land. Multiple pads with different angles make it feel like 18. Pro Shop accross the street with a nice selection on disc golf accessories.

9 hole course. Has room for expansion

I love this course. I've played it many times, but it never gets old. The layout makes great use of the space. Many of the holes appear open, but they close up tight when you step up to throw. Excellent Signage and the course flows well.

It's only 9 holes. There are multiple tee positions, so you can make 18 out of it. However some of the tee boxes are just longer. There isn't that big of a difference on some of the holes.

Great course in a beautiful park. Be sure to check out the pro-shop (over by the "ball" golf course as you come in). They have some of the best prices in town - only Innova though.

-This is a very nice cousre that is well maintained and has 2 different sets of concrete teepads for each hole.
-Very open course and you can really air it out on a few.
-Great signage and 0chance of getting lost from hole to hole.
-Great proshop with great prices on discs. Open most of day since it also doubles for proshop of the ball golf course.
Great course for beginners and blue tees make it a little challenging for experienced players.

- Biggest con, only 9 holes!? There is talk of making 9 more but not sure if its true or not.
- Not to many technical holes.

This is a great site that is begging for 9 more holes. If they do add 9 more this could be a 4.5 rated course.

Multiple tees for ever hole. Concrete tee pads. Beautiful scenery. Secondary tees don't just change the distance of the hole, but completely change the way it is played.

Absolutely stunning course, really beautiful park. Great pro shop at the beginning. The white tees are fun for advanced players and challenging for new players. The blue tees will give advanced players a little bit of a challenge. Playing both gives you a nice 18. If it had 9 more holes the quality of the first 9, this would definitely be a 5 out of 5. Great pads, great diagrams at each tee. great course, I will be back.

- 2 Sets of Tees. Not only does having two sets of tees let people chose the game that's right for them, it also allows this course to be played as an 18 (kinda sorta). Both sets are different enough to make the holes unique (kinda sorta).
- Ball Golf Feel. Because the course is on an old "ball golf" course, it feels like Golf. Rolling terrain, manicured grass, use of available trees, use of elevation, use of available opportunities for punishment... Fun Times!
- Air it Out. With a few holes being over 400' and one over 550', and with the terrain being mostly open, you really get to air it out at Steele Creek.

- Only 9... Bummer. This course is pretty cool as is, but if they had an additional 9, it would be elevated to a whole new level.
- Labeled Par. I appreciate that they didn't try to go "Pro-Par", but, they were a few questionably labeled Pars out there. I had 3 realistic "eagle" putts... and that's probably a little unrealistic. Two of the 4's should be 3's and the 5 should be a 4.

- Best 9 Holer? As my review title states, this might be the best 9 hole disc golf course I have ever played (out of 20 nine-holers played in six states). The "ball golf" atmosphere, rolling terrain, manicured grass, elevation use, "Par 4's and 5", and dual tee-pads make this 9 Holer stand out.
- Other Nearby Courses. This area in north east Tennessee is a hot bed for GREAT disc golf. My Rankings: Harmon Hills (and I haven't even played the whole thing yet), Winged Deer, Warrior's Path, Fossil Hill, Steele Creek.
- My Score: Depends on what you call "Par". I would consider it a -1 (28).

Situated in a humongous city park that was formerly a state park (before the state shifted it over to Warriors Path). Gorgeous property with a lake, ball golf and disc golf. The DG course is actually on the old ball golf site and is open,rolling with scattered trees. The design fully utilizes all the trees for an interesting layout. Two separate tee pads gives you 18 holes. Fantastic signs.

If the city adds 9 more holes in the woods, this could be an elite course...one of the best in TN. Please treat this place with respect to enhance the chances of 9 more.

Open course with strategic basket locations; Very well marked; good pro shop; good scenery, (lakeside holes).

This is where I started seven months ago; good beginner's course. Not too long, and achievable pars, even for the novice. Builds confidence level.

My game

This is a very enjoyable course to play. Tees are now concrete for both white and blue. The white tees offer a different view on 7 of the 9 holes and it can be fun to play it twice alternating white then blue and you end up with a neat eighteen holes in about an hour and a half.

Concrete tee pads, well maintained, the short holes are equally difficult compared to the longer holes through the use of trees, the signs are very nice

There is a road that runs through the park that is in play on two holes. There is also a greenway that is in play on one or two holes. Remember it is a public park so people can come out of no where, not just from the roads and greenway.

This is a great course to introduce someone to the sport. There is even a sign with general rules of the game at the first hole. If you don't have discs, you can rent some from the shop at the golf course. The white tees are easier for the most part.

I haven't heard any more on the course growing, so I doubt it will be expanding any time soon.

A tree on the second hole has been removed making the drive from the blue tee easier and more forgiving.

Very well maintained course with two possible aces! Holes #1, #3, #8 and #9 are wooded but accessible. Holes #2, #4, #5, #6, and #7 are mostly open. Slower players are good to let you play through and this will be a 5 star course when they add the other 9.

The tee boxes need to have the concrete poured and you must watch out for the occasional bird watcher. (they will learn).

Playing from the blues or whites, you can finish in 35-45 minutes and still have the energy to do 36 holes.

Good draw course for the area, beginner friendly and very good course to introduce this area to disc golf. I think the back 9 when planted will be good for those of us that are more experienced and do not want to make the Ktown drive

The only con would be that there are alot of people that are just wandering on the course. But I think that once people get used to the course being there and the concept that "discs" hurt that will correct itself

Kudos to the area club for getting another course planted in the tri-cities area and expanding the DG scene

Located in a beautiful multi-purpose park, with fantastic views of the neighbouring wooded hills. Very clean and well maintained grounds.

Clubhouse selling discs, drinks, candy; bathrooms available. Scorecards, but no map, available here, too. Relatively easy to navigate, even without a map.

Only nine holes, two dirt teepads marked by blue or white PVC pipe.

Update 4/22/11: Tees are now top-quality concrete.

Gently rolling landscape with mixture of large hardwood and evergreen trees. Some minor change of elevation on most holes. Mostly grip-n-rip, needing to avoid a large tree or two at some point during the flight. Some holes offer a couple different flightpath choices. Nothing over 400' from the whites, while the blues offer a few holes over 400'.

According the the gentleman in the clubhouse, concrete tees will be poured in July-09, and some time in the future the course will increase to 18-holes by expanding into the woods.

To find tee #1, make a left into the gravel lot just after passing the clubhouse. Tee #3 is across the road from #2/#4. When looking for blue tee #5, you might find #9, instead, and visa versa.

Beautiful course offering many opportunities to air it out with minimal chance to lose a disc. Looking forward to the improved tees and increase in holes.

According to the clubhouse manager, 9 more holes across the river and up the mountain a bit will be added, to make 18 (front 9 will be split current 9=future 18). Also concrete teepads are in the works. All of this is based on money available, so it may not be very soon. Great course all around, especially for families, but semi-pros can power play it in about 45 minutes. Clubhouse has great selection of discs at low prices. Worth at least 1 play, and then you will want to play again and again.
