Pros:
Good, very visible DISCatchers.
Small tee signs marking each tee. This is a pro only because the natural tees would be tough to locate otherwise.
Mostly open, with few obstacles, beginner friendly course.
Loops around the outside of the park, trying to stay away from other activities.
Nice restrooms on site.
Cons:
Probably the biggest Con at Stokesdale is how close the holes are to other activities. As I mentioned above, they really tried to stay away from the walking path and soccer fields, but didn't have a lot of options on several holes.
Depending on the traffic on the walking path, and whether there is a soccer game going on, it may not be an issue, but several holes are next to the path, cross it, or cross a corner of the soccer field.
Natural tees were not great, but not a big problem.
Other Thoughts:
This is a good course for a town this size. A good chance for the locals to try the sport or practice space for more advanced players.
The course averages 260' per hole, so experienced players could get in a good practice (or warmup) round here. A pretty good distance for beginners, with a couple of long ones, but there are few trees to navigate and very little chance to lose a disc.
It would be nice to see more of these courses pop up in smaller towns.
