Pros:
When you drive in, you know you're in for a treat. It's a public course that's be designed well and you can see there's a lot of attention to detail, here.
- Practice basket between hole 1 and the parking lot.
- Donation box, if you want to support their efforts, but not currently P2P.
- 2 large and level teepads on every hole.
- 2 pin positions for each hole, one basket installed in either position.
- Baskets were easy to spot (bright red) and were in perfect condition.
- Large garbage cans throughout the course. Very little trash anywhere.
- The course does not interfere with any of the other park features.
I would have liked to have played both short and long positions, so I'll be back to play the shorts in the near future. The quality of the course design here is really what makes this great. You play uphill, downhill, and along the hill on the first 7 holes of the course. Much of the rest of the course has you playing risk/reward golf with the river coming into play either through the hole, behind the basket, or along the side of the hole. Where they could have made the river your main obstacle, they used it to enhance the experience while still forcing you to choose your lines through the woods. There are very few holes that I would call open, here, and if they are "open", there's still an element of hitting a gap or playing something other than an open-field hyzer shot.
Cons:
Nothing that I can think of. The only thing keeping this from being a perfect course is the amenities that are nice to have, but aren't feasible out here, like a pro-shop, indoor bathrooms, etc...
