Pros:
- Baskets like new, upgraded to DiscGolfPark Pros in Summer 2023 after previous baskets being damaged/broken for a decent length of time.
- Easily walkable/accessible, flat, good for beginners.
- Lots of parking, garbages, and washrooms available during business hours.
- You'll be unlikely to lose discs here.
- Generally not busy.
Cons:
- All the baskets are pretty much straight shots, there's really not much to this course, just 9 baskets on grass surrounding a building.
- Grass tee pads, simple signage with no distances. Use UDisc if you need hole distances.
- Course is quite short, average hole length is probably a little under 200 feet. Only one semi-long hole at 300 feet.
- Course is fairly tight and is adjacent to public-use areas, including trails and a dog park. Because it's so short public danger isn't as big of a deal, though you may need to pay attention in spots.
Other Thoughts:
There's not a whole lot to say about this course. If you live in the area, it's a quick round and excuse to work on your short/mid-range game.
Don't go out of your way to play it, but if you want a warm up before heading out east to King's Pine this will work.
I don't get the sense that this course really has an active community that plays tags or meets up regularly, but I may be wrong about that.
If you're new to the island, there are a half dozen 18-hole courses that are worth your time to play, check out the map of the island, it's hard to go wrong with most of the other choices that are a 20-40 minute drive from Charlottetown.
