Yohohoho May I see your...Birdies?

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 15, 2024 Played the course:once

Pros:

This course was perfect for what I needed when I played it. A little city park on some water with some shot shaping approach styles shots and a pretty setting.

Parking is sort of a weird selection of parallel spaces along the road side of the park and there are a couple of spots right by hole 1.

Pads are concrete and big enough for these short holes, and the tee signs are excellent. Some of the best I've seen recently.

Baskets are Blue banded disccatchers and I loved them. They are super easy to see through the trees and caught very well as newish disccatchers usually do.

Holes are mainly between 125-275 with some sort of shot shaping needed. Putters and mids only for this one, I never needed anything faster than that.

It's a pretty setting, and I was looking to work on putts and approaches and this really was perfect as basically every throw is a typical approach shot for a longer hole.

Cons:

It's very short and pretty easy, I shot -13 and was kind of disappointed. If you are an intermediate or better golfer you are going to want to be -10 or more.

The holes after run along the road and walking path because the park is quite narrow and you need to watch for walkers and cars.

The water is close on a few holes so stick your landing on those tight greens.

No benches or anything like that but you play so fast here it's not really needed.

Other Thoughts:

Fun little place for beginners or if you are nearby and want to work on your short game.

Scenic & fun, but too easy drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 4, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

+ Scenic course. Palm trees dot the course and the back nine plays along a stream.

+ Well done tees and signs. Long, level tees and accurate, detailed signs.

+ Navigation is extremely simple. The next tee is always visible from the last basket.

+ Some fun lines here. #6, #8, #10 and the last few holes were all pretty fun. Short holes but enough trees and elevation in play to keep things interesting.

+ Decent shot variety. Most holes are fairly straight shots, but there's some uphill shots, downhill shots, and a few holes with multiple routes.

Cons:

- 16 out of 18 holes had broken glass on the fairways.

- I don't think any hole was over 250'.

- While the water hazards present some risk / reward scenarios, none of the holes are hard enough they can't be birdied with a putter.

- Leans a little too hard on 120-180' straight holes. Some more hard hyzer lines would be welcome.

Other Thoughts:

This was a fun pitch and putt course. The tees and signs are great, and its very quick to play.

This is a good course if you're looking to warm up for one of the longer, tougher 18's in the area, or just want a stress free round packed full of birdie opportunities and ace runs.

Despite being a really easy course, I had a fun round here. Nice way to relax while on vacation enjoying the beach.

I threw Swashbuckler before Socastee, and they paired well together. This course got me warmed up, while Socastee made me work (Threw golds).

Nice little course in Myrtle Beach drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 8, 2023 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

-Great course if you only have 30 minutes to spare.
-Nice place to get short game practice.
-Nice park on a residential neighborhood.
-Good for junior players and new players to learn the game.
-Informative signs at every teepad.
-Some holes do provide a decent level of difficulty because of nearby pond.

Cons:

-No real cons except I will say you have to look out for other golfers and patrons of the park as some of the holes are close to one another.

Other Thoughts:

You won't need your bag. Just take a mid and or a putter and your all set.

Short & Sweet in Downtown Myrtle drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 8, 2022 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

EST. 2022 -- Short Warmup or Junior Course. It is a quick play. Good Baskets. Close to Downtown. Lots of shots around trees and great for placement practice. Leave the drivers in the car.
If your up for a quick stress-free vacation round, this is it.
Great example of disc golf enhancing a neighborhood park.
StreetSide parking. The average hole is 160' . None longer than 240'

Cons:

Course is essentially on a corner lot, in a small underutilized park. The holes do cross back close to one another on a few holes, so you need to watch for other players for sure. It does need signs, I have the feeling they are on the way.

Hard to say anything negative about it.

Other Thoughts:

This is one of those courses where you grab 2 discs and go! For those wanting to practice your up-shots and putts, you have found your place.
If you are vacationing and only have 30 minutes to throw, you should come here.
It is about 20 minutes North of Splinter and Socastee, Just a few blocks from Family Kingdom off 3rd Ave South.
