Pros:
1 - Big variation in hole layouts bring new challenges to each tee
2 - Great elevation changes seen on some holes
3 - Generally well maintained
4 - Lots of possible hole positions can add length for tournaments
5 - Concrete tee pads
6 - Few places to lose discs
7 - Course is well marked, with good signage
8 - Remodeled club house is convenient
9 - WIND - Much of the course is located on a hill top. Strong and inconsistent gusts of wind add challenge
Cons:
1 - Parks dept can go too long between mowing the course - but it's generally well mown before tournaments
2 - Course can get crowded, especially on weekends
3 - The neighborhood isn't a war zone, but it's not the best. I've seen some illegal drug use at the course (such is disc golf). There was one time I saw a guy do a line of something on a picnic table by the 10th tee pad.
Other Thoughts:
Whether you're brand new to the game or experienced, Swope presents a bunch of different challenges to players.
The course layout is likely going to change soon. A vote just passed to build a new animal shelter that is supposed to be built on part of the back 9.
