Telemark the Beast; Wilderness disc golf at it's finest 2+ years drive by

Pros:

I love every hole on this course.....not sure what one reviewer was talking about, the first hole is an awesome warm up hole over a huge abandon parking lot. It is about 400 feet and you just grip it and rip it! With no real obstacles. A perfect massive throw to getcha prepared for plenty more, with pahhhlenty of obstacles. All of the holes on the base of the hill are great warmups for the holes on the hill. Hint: take advantage while you can!

Anyways, I played over memorial weekend, my 2nd round there this year. The course was in best shape that I've seen it in (since 2008). No cement tee pads, but they had all tees marked....which they didn't when I was there a few weeks ago.

Course has so much variety, you will use every shot you can imagine. There are six par 4s and one par 5.... Tim Gill did an incredible job with the course design and the views at this course are astounding. It's possible to get a lot of birdies there, especially before you head up to the hill. There are legit birdie opps on holes 1 thru 4. Hole 5 is an impossible birdie and extremely difficult par 3. 6,7 possible birdies as well. 8 is tough birdie uphill, 9 and 10 can be birdied, but both protected by trees. 11 is one of the harder holes on the course; a super long uphill hole, with a very narrow fairway littered with mature trees... Very tough hole and the first hole headed up the hill to the backside. 12 is short hole through a gammit of trees. birdiable.

13-20 is where your round is determined, and is where things really toughen up and subsequently, you feel as though things are just beginning and the fun ensues!

Following the "heart" of the course, you are rewarded with holes 21 through 24. Just play the course and trust me, you will SEE what I am talking about.

All in all, Telemark is my favorite course and I was blessed to discover it, all due to my wife's family cabin being nearby. I choose to play here over HighBridge, often.

Cons:

Only con I can come up with is no Tee Pads. They would be beneficial given the lengths of some of the holes....but then again, it would take a way from the some of the wilderness-y feel....which I truly love.

I can safely say that this course is NOT for beginners. Some moderate players will have some serious troubles here as well...luckily, the scenery is worth the hike alone.

Another con might be that someday I will run into a wolf or bear there.

Other Thoughts:

This course is the Beast of all Beasts. It takes anywhere from 2.25 hrs to 3.5 hrs, even going solo and depending on how well you throw.

Play it, you won't regret it!
