Nice LIL School/Park Course

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 6, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

Nice little recreational course set in a nice middle school property that also shares land with a city park. The course is short enough but also challenging enough for children and new throwers and low-level recs. There were some one disc chuckers enjoying the course while we were enjoying our round here. We stopped in for a leg stretching round on a recent multistate bagging trip and the course gave us a fun little birdie run and let us get out of the car for a few minutes. I'll have to admit I liked the slightly more wooded holes and agree that the cool-looking woods would be interesting to add holes too in the future, if possible.

The course looks like it is well lighted making nighttime play possible, if allowed.

Cons:

The course is partially set in a very busy park with several other activities and a walking path. The other part of the course is on school property so it might not be accessible during school hours. (I wish my middle school had a course like this next to it). The short distances might be a con to some. Keep an eye on your discs on the holes with the thick tall grass.

Other Thoughts:

Great little course for the kids, new throwers, and the after-work "one disc/one beer" crowd. Also a good course for stretching the legs if passing by.

2.5 sounds about right! 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 16, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

I would say 2.5 is pretty accurate to me. The pictures make it seem like a dark, dreary course but it's in the backyard of a junior high and a community park, which is a pretty fun place.

This course is very beginner friendly and offers advanced players more of a deuce-or-die / ace-run course. I played the entire course with a Sinus (overstable putter) and was significantly under 27.

The course flow was very intuitive and I feel the design takes advantage of the land pretty well.

Cons:

Given that this course is geared more towards beginners, it's not super challenging. While it's an easier, fun course, there are no really memorable holes and it almost leaves something to be desired. There is a really wooded area that the course plays around that would have been really appropriate for some nice wooded holes, but I'm sure this area was designated as off-limits.

Other Thoughts:

All in all, this is a quick 9 in Teutopolis. It's a fairly typical 9er that is exactly what you'd expect for a course set in the backyard of a junior high or a community park.

Nice 9'er 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 15, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

We'll start this out with a 2.5 and see where it goes!!

New course with nice concrete tee pads, hole markers (tall ornate 4x4's) w/ number and distance written on them.

Course flow was fine and elevation while fairly flat, was utilized over one valley area,

Typical city park course in that it uses mature trees as protection for the baskets.

Hole 7 comes to mind as the feature hole: solid row of mature trees on right side with the basket at the end and another tree just off the line to the left as protection. (Hard to verbalize the picture!!)

Cons:

Some would say distance, but this one boasts typical city park length. If you want longer, don't look at city parks!!

My only con is that it needs signage to spruce it up.

Other Thoughts:

My son and I played this as course 2 of a 5 course Interstate 70 trip and really enjoyed the course.

As I often write in the reviews, it's all about the fun factor. This 9'er rates a 2.5 in my book. Signs take it to a 3.
