Pros:
I appreciate the use of golf courses in the winter, way better than just letting such a big piece of land sit 5 months out of the year!
Overall a decent variety of uphill/downhill/flat, forehand/backhand mix. Some of the trees here are gigantic, forcing a low ceiling shot or a big hyzer out and around to reach the basket.
The land is well kept, trash cans and the portapotty are all nice to have on such a big course as it's a long walk back to the clubhouse from hole 8.
Tournaments and night leagues are both great fun here!
Overall this course is worth the drive out from the city
Cons:
The 22-23 winter has been brutal here in Minnesota, playing in December meant 3 miles of walking through knee deep snow. Ice is a factor now in February, the greens are slick and you might hit a flat patch and skip 50 feet, or you might hit a boot print and come to a dead stop.
Rubber pads have tended to collect some ice but local players are pretty good and keeping them clear - thank you tee pad shovelers!
I don't think this course has a true "signature hole" like some of the competition in town has. Maybe 10 as a big uphill par 5 but after the tee shot around the pond it's just another hole.
I hate roped off OB, even if I understand why it's needed to protect the golf greens and the construction near holes 16 and 17.
Trains pass by once or twice a round and take me out of the zen disc golf mood for a minute or two.
Other Thoughts:
The food inside was good and they have a great beer selection, if you enjoy this course stop in as their is no fee to play and a bit of financial support might convince the city to put the course out every year.
An eagle's nest is in the tree above the tee on hole 10 and I often see them flying around looking for squirrels to eat.
Getting to the course is a bit tricky due to road construction, the pavement on the roundabouts under Hwy 10 are uneven.
