Reviewed: Played on:Oct 25, 2018 Played the course:once

Pros:

~Located close to the main course within the park.
~Beginner friendly w/ a nice fun factor.
~Glad to see Veteran's old baskets being reused.

Cons:

~Out to out flow, long walk from 9 back to 1 or the main course.
~Toe boards can be hard to locate.
~It flows, but also feels forced.

Other Thoughts:

I incorporated the Green Course while playing the main course during a wonderfully calm Autumn day. First and foremost, kudos to the Parma Club for re-purposing the old baskets, glad to see them here to make a truly beginner friendly layout. This entire course consists of short holes that tend to switch back across a section of park land located across the road from Hole 6 of the main layout. A fun putter & mid-range layout to the experienced player. Mature trees and minor elevation is scattered about the course so there is a fun factor involved for anyone who plays.

As a stand alone course, the novelty would quickly wear off for experienced players. The baskets are old, and some are beat up, but they still catch. My biggest gripe is the wooden toe boards which are hard to locate, some painted posts or anything with a bright color sticking out of the ground would help tremendously. The course could also use a small kiosk or panel sign near the parking lot by Hole 1 just to help the first time visitor get started. The only other major issue is that Hole 9 finishes at the furthest point from the start of the course so there is a decent walk back involved, especially if you incorporate it into the main layout.

All in all for what the club put here, I am pleased. Their purpose was a truly beginner friendly 9 holer, and that's what this is. Every hole is a birdie opportunity, and most can be ace runs for veteran players. It's basic, a little rough around the edges, and fun!
