sweet par fours and par fives long course is difficult but interesting drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 6, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

Good signage natural trails multiple tee pads and basket locations on each hole. Nice long distance track 7700feet or something but found myself reaching for putter off the tee a lot because the fairways are very tight and lots of trees and palmettos if you go outside the fairways. Overall it's a great course I'd play again. Also the park should have a hole 19 around the lake after 18 walk back to the lot.

Cons:

I really wish that somebody would cut out some trees right in the middle of the fairways it gets frustrating when you throw a good shot just to nail a tree!

BEST drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 21, 2022 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

-LONG
-open
-clean
-Gorgeous views
- Not overly busy

Cons:

- Trash cans here and there would be nice but not necessary.

Other Thoughts:

This course is hands down one of the best in FL and THE best in Central FL. The fairways are emaculate and wide. Although it has the wide fairways there are plenty of challenging shots. It will 100% test your distance and control game. This course is absolutely worth checking out if you haven't already.

Amazing course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 26, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

Well designed
Clear fairways
Tough rough
Par is fair
Great club

Cons:

Easy to lose disc

Other Thoughts:

Amazingly designed course. Very challenging and requires a number of different shots. Fairways were very clear, rough was very challenging and will punish you. Went for a doubles event and club was very helpful. Be prepared for a long day easy to lose disc in the rough but if you stay on fairway can be very scoreable

Stay in the fairway 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 6, 2021 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

With 2 baskets installed on each hole (red basket is usually easier and gold basket is usually harder). and 2 concrete tee pads on each hole (white tee pad is usually easier/shorter and blue tee pad is usually harder/longer), this course is playable 4 ways on each hole.

Course was designed by Master Designer Gregg Hosfeld of World Champion Disc Golf Course Design.

It is the longest wooded course in Florida that I am aware of. Although it is wooded, the fairways are usually very fair.

There are separate or somewhat separate fairways on most holes for the different teepad/basket combinations which leads to a very different feel to most holes depending on which layout your are playing.

2 water holes (10 and 18) and some good elevation changes (holes 1,2,6,8,10 and 18).

Signage is good but permanent signage is otw. Look for blue and white arrows under the baskets pointing you to the next tee pad.

Benches on many holes.

Lots of trash cans.

Nice restroom.

Cons:

Tee signs aren't permanent yet.

Other Thoughts:

Part of the Lake County Disc Golf Trail driven by Innova. There are 5 courses currently on the trail and 1 more funded and approved which should be built in 2021.

Must play course for Central Florida 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 2, 2021 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Beautiful, scenic wooded course with decent elevation changes for Florida, especially from blue tees (#2 and #9) and to red basket (#1) gold baskets (#6 and #8). Dual baskets and concrete tees on every hole. 15 of the 18 holes were seemingly carved out of the woods with the designer, Gregg Hosfeld, taking advantage of existing tree falls to make some unique, and just plain cool, approach shots like #7 and #15 gold. Probably the most under-rated feature of this course is the number of holes with distinct dual fairways. I'm not talking about a big tree that some people can play to the right with a backhand while others play to the left with a flick. I'm talking about completely different trails to the same basket where if someone on your card goes the anhyzer route and you take the hyzer one, you don't see them for 100 to 200 feet of the fairway!
Best bathrooms of any disc golf course in central Florida.
Local club members who take care of the maintenance that this City doesn't get to which keeps the course from becoming overgrown.
Excellent course for tournaments. Practice field. Parking lot can accommodate a large number of cars and baskets and tees pads are more than amply spaced so that people teeing off aren't at risk from shots on the previous hole when the course is full.

Cons:

None worth keeping you from playing this course. There's some broken glass on a couple fairways that is slowly being cleaned up by players a little at a time. If you are a lefthanded player without a forehand shot, or a righthanded player without a backhand, you may find the two water carry holes (#10 and #18) are brutally tough due to the severe slope towards the water.

Other Thoughts:

I played this course a couple times right after it opened and it was understandably very rough around the edges. When I went back after almost a year of not playing it, I was blown away by what a difference a year of improvements and beating in had made. The concrete pads are extremely well done and while the rough is still rough, it's no longer the 10 minute search and rescue mission right off the fairway that it was before the course got played a lot. Please consider the dates on earlier reviews and know that many of the earlier cons have been taken care of and if you are one of those people, like I was, who haven't played the course since its early days, go back! You will be impressed!

- Good signage will guide any player through the course without issue.
- Multiple teepads and baskets on each hole creates multiple playable layouts.
- Course has a great variety of shots.

Cons:

- With the course being new, the rough is still rough if you can stay in the fairway you will be good.
