Biggest Little DGC in the world

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 16, 2023 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Great course for intermediate to expert disc golfers.
The newly installed concrete teepads make this the ultimate course for learning how to create shots but also provides for ample possibilities for experts to fine tune their short game. Both without the hazard of hitting trees or landing in a pond.
Integrated in to the natural hilly rough terrain of a high desert (4500ft) makes for a challenging round of golf.
Easy access, Great signage. Great hole variation. Lots of elevation change. Clearly marked OB and mandos including the triple mando on #7. Great views of Reno and Mt. Rose.

Cons:

On #9 you may have to wait for hikers to walk across the fairway as this course is part of one of the finest recreational areas in Reno. The land was a ranch which was donated to the county and was converted to multi use which includes the DGC, 20 acre dog park, a 15 acre human park, a 15 acre arboretum, 10 acre discovery park for kids, a museum, and a quad ball park.
And, a trail head for a 5 mile hike/bike through the DGC and up past the Basque Monument.
Disclaimer: The acreages for the various areas are estimated.

Other Thoughts:

Bring water and be prepared for changing weather conditions.

The Reno Balloon races are held at the park and (at least last year) they use the #18 fairway as their target zone plus there will be 100's of people walking/camping around the front nine to observe the races. There were some people tent camping on #1 teepad last year.
