Rim Rock DGC 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 22, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

- Tees are marked with hole number and easy to find after first tee shot. They are located near the basket.
- Most of the baskets are visible from the tee.
- Beautiful surroundings.
- Bar at the end of the course.
- Printed directions are pretty good. Take along a compass.

Cons:

- Requires long tee shots. Not so good for beginner players.
- Many tees are tough for a person with fear of heights.
- Rugged terrain. DO WEAR HIKING BOOTS.
- Lots of small cactus everywhere. Be careful picking up your disc.
- No map.
- Some baskets are marked by poles which have fallen down and thus not visible.
- Be prepared for a lot of difficult hiking. It took us 2 hours to play 9 holes the first time.

Other Thoughts:

We are beginners and played on a very windy day. It was a tough course. It is fun to tee off from elevated tees on most holes but being acrophobic was a bit of a problem for me. If you over-ran the tee box, it could be disastrous. The tees are dirt and fairly easy to find from the previous basket. The printed directions are not too bad if you use a compass. Hole 10 is the exception here. Stay on the ridge where the tee is. Do not shoot into the ravine.
