Must play on the way to HHI 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 9, 2016 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

-multiple tees including white, blue and gold
-great use of tunnels and different directions
-fair fairways
-new holes added (19 and 20)
-fairly easy to follow even without a map
-well manicured
-difficult without being frustrating
-trashcans everywhere
-port-a-pot in the middle of the course (near 9)

Cons:

-prone to flooding (we are in the low country)
-mosquitos
-teepads could be a better material (they are rubber)

Other Thoughts:

Great course. This course gets lots of love and is just plain fun to play. We come down to Hilton Head every year and always play the Sarge on the way in and try to sneak off one morning and get another round in. This is a mostly wooded course that has nice cover (especially in that 90 degree heat) and has several shots over or around water. The fairways all have nice width at least around 15 feet wide with an actual lane to shoot for. the layout is great. I can go with some newer players and play the blues while they play the whites. The only hole I haven't figured out yet is 18. There are 2 pin placements and two sets of teepads (I think) for both placements... One is a 500+ monster with a lilypad **river**all along the left. That thing is an abyss and you will lose discs in there on early cut rolls or airshots that fade out. On the right is jail in the woods. It was a great finishing hole when there were 18 but I really like 19 and 20. 19 is a shorty to bring you back to reality with a simple putter turnover or sidearm through the next section of woods and 20 is just fun. Off the gold tee you throw over water and into a 30' wide lane that goes left and S's back to the right (should be 400+ to the pin from the golds). From the blues you have probably one of the tightest fairways on the course surrounded by jail and you have basically one lane to hit. Basket has water about 20 feet beyond it. These new holes really help finish the course out and the local club(I'm guessing) really puts a lot of work into this course. There is swamp on or around a lot of the holes but the bridges are great and they have done there best to keep your feet dry. One of my favorite course to play in SC (Stoney Hill and Pipeline being the other 2)

We had a blast playing!! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 30, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

This course has several unique and memorable holes which are just plain fun. There is a definite advantage to keeping the disc straight on this course. I'm rating this as Phenomenal because compared to the courses my wife and I played on our recent trip to the Southeast from Indiana, this one was one of our favorites.

-tees were in good shape
-very good signage and easy to navigate
-a couple fun holes over water....especially #1 from the pro tees
-very scenic

Cons:

We didn't see any gators or snakes, but you do feel somewhat exposed at times.

Other Thoughts:

I would go out of my way to play this course again if I were in the general area.
