Pros:
+views of the big horn river & bordering cliffs
+hole distance variety
+tee signs & course sign
+not busy
Cons:
-1 way 9
-no benches
-no restroom
-cheap portable baskets & natural tees
Other Thoughts:
this small course is squeezed into this semi-narrow track of land along the river, so it doesn't have room to loop back.
there are sparse trees well utilized as obstacles; most giving multiple options of which way to navigate them. the 500+ ft. par 4 hole 8 is wide open until the end where you have to navigate some trees.
not much elevation, just hole 1 from on top of the dike & hole 6 with the elevated basket (on top of a stump).
the river doesn't really come into play, which is good because it is fast moving & brown (when i was there). it is nice to look at with the towering cliffs on the otherside. a bad throw into the water would almost certainly be lost.
there were a few spots of tall grass (off fairway) when i was there, but the middle fairways were all short grass/weeds. if it doesn't get mowed or if you go too far off fairway, tall weeds might make finding discs difficult.
i was attempting to play the east course, but ended up playing this one, not knowing i was at the wrong course (saw a tee sign & went to it). it wasn't until after i was done that i saw a basket across the road & i went to udisc to find all the courses. (kinda surprised there isn't a reverse course for this one on udisc). i didn't have time to play the east course, but the north course was fun too.
it is a one way 9r, which means you have to walk the whole way back to the parking lot. my advice is to drive to the city park/school & stash a skateboard for when your done, so you can just skate the paved path on top of the dike back to hole 1 or you could break up the long walk by parking at the park (where there are 2 baskets) & walk to 1. i would dock this course a half point for stranding me at 9, but then it gets that point back by having other courses close (cross the highway or river & there is another 9holer). it is a good 9 hole course, worth the stop if your passing through.
