One of the Most Decrepit Parks and Towns I've Been To... 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 3, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

- decent full color tee signs, though some already missing/damaged
- rubber tees are ok but very small
- hole 8 is a pretty cool semi-wooded shot over the drainage culvert
- high quality baskets that still look nice and new

Cons:

- park (outside of disc golf) is in an incredible state of disrepair: concrete is broken and in rough shape, play equipment is broken, nothing looks maintained
- legitimately felt dangerous being in this run down town
- some level of safety hazard with basketball courts, playground, pavilion, etc.
- only major safety hazard is hole 1 where road, parking lot, and walking path are all OB factors around the hole
- navigation is somewhat unclear - be sure to use map at beginning of course

Other Thoughts:

This course was most definitely previously overrated. It is a quick round passing through town, and I decided to hit it and take some pictures on my way between Selah Ranch and some Oklahoma courses. Honestly, passing through Bogota, TX was sad. This is a town that doesn't seem like it has much opportunity and where people appear to be suffering.

As a previous reviewer mentioned, it's really cool that a town in such rough shape actually has a new disc golf course like this. Sadly, despite appearing to only be a couple of years old, there are already 2 tee signs out of the 9 missing and several others are bent. The park is very poorly maintained in terms of equipment, but the other tee signs are still ok and the baskets are great. The park is mown, so it is getting some maintenance. The short rubber tees leave a lot to be desired, but they're passable for this course.

This is a pretty ordinary park course that is nevertheless playable. Hole 8 is the highlight with some elevation change and shots through a wooded area, crossing the creek/drainage culvert on the way to the basket. Navigation is pretty straightforward once you start playing, but there are entrances to the park on both sides (north and south) of the park. It's important to enter from Clarksville St. and NOT 3rd St., as this is where the main parking lot is and hole 1 starts.

The course actually has a very nice full color course map at the beginning you may want to take a picture of; the missing tee signs make it harder to find a few holes. Most of the course is very flat, and while there are some tree obstacles a lot of it is quite open. It's a fun enough quick round, but I wasn't sorry to move on from Bogota when I was done. Hopefully it adds some enjoyment for the locals but it's one of the rougher places I've visited in all my disc golf travels. I'd only recommend this course if you're already passing through.

Easy Short Clean Course 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 3, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

Brand new baskets great signs. Nice Easy shots. Nice flow. Pretty park. Rubber tea pads on every hole. Almost every shot you can go for but distance wise. Everything is about 180-220 so lots of birdies to be found. Very clean pretty park.

Cons:

Sign for 9 is already missing.

Other Thoughts:

For a town this size to have a course is great. If you are driving through you should stop. Its a very fast play.
