Pros:
-well maintained course (other than tee pads)
-easy to navigate
-short holes, and RHBH friendly, make it great for beginners
-nice baskets with hole number on top.
-gravel parking by hole 1
-practice basket by the fort
-lady at the welcome hut was very welcoming
-super close to freeway, but somehow had a nice and quiet feel
-near the parking area is a covered basketball/pickleball area as well as a play fort for kids.
Other Thoughts:
Hard to complain, really. I have to say this is an excellent beginner course. It's a quick, simple and very enjoyable round of 9.
If the tee pads areas were numbered and paved, and if the yellow posts were not at the ends of the pads, I would rate it half a disc higher. Sounds like the yellow posts might be part of a giant croquet course or something, but they were in my head each time I threw my drive.
Not a particularly 'difficult' course, but the wooded holes (3-6) force a player to hit their line.
I really enjoyed the raised tee pads on hole 6 and hole 8.
The pictures on this site are somewhat outdated- the fairways have been cleaned up. You won't find any clutter out there- maybe just a garter snake or friendly kitten from the house by hole 6.
Overall we were very pleased and we'll be stopping by again on our next trip up I5!
