Twin Creeks DGC 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 14, 2011 Played the course:once

Pros:

Course is located behind a highscool in a large, flat, slightly wooded area. This is a very fun course to play. There's a great combination between huge open drives and shorter, more technical shots. Holes 1 and 16 have elevated baskets which are very fun to putt. O.B. is used very creatively and can create a good risk/reward shot. The holes are balanced as far as hyzer/anhyzer. Hole 12 is one of my favorite holes where either a big hyzer or a small anhyzer can be used. When the rubber tee pads are flat (see cons) they are awesome! They are very long and provide good grip. Tee signs are some of the best I've seen. Baskets are Monkey Traps which are brand new and are in great condition.

Cons:

Navigation can get really confusing. You have to pass hole 13 tee pad to get to hole 11. 13 and 15 are weird. If 15 is in the long position, it seems like it's 13's basket. When the river is up, it is hard to get to certain holes ( 3, 17, and 18 come to mind). I didn't see any water or restrooms, but someone please correct me if I am wrong. The coures is brand new, but it really needs some bridges across the rivers and the fairways need to be trimmed some more. Several of the tee pads were buckled up, which made teeing off even worse than a natural tee pad.

Other Thoughts:

This course has the potential to be 4.5/5.0, but it lacks some amenities. Hole 16 will be awesome when the mound is completed. I would love to come back to this course several times so I could see the progress being made.

Rogers is the place to be! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 5, 2011 Played the course:once

Pros:

Signs! The signs are as good as I have seen anyplace in the world.

Baskets! The traps look and catch great.

Epic holes.

Hole 1 is a killer hole 500 feet or you can take the dangerous short cut over the parking lot.

Hole 3 is a great 2 shot hole. A long drive must land in the middle, the navigate the guard trees on your second to get a putt.

Holes 13 and 15 are both cool 2 shot holes (see cons).
Missed a 24 footer for 3 on 13 and nailed a 200 foot upshot for a 2 on 15.

The elevated baskets are sweet. 1 is awesome now and the "mound" is going to be very rad when finished!

Cons:

The tees need some work. They are rubber and many of them are anything but smooth.

13 and 15 share a fairway. Do to the length and danger at going at the pin most peopler are going to layup to the side. The side is the same place for both holes. I rolled 13 and hyzered 15 both shots were feet apart.

Many of the short holes have no line for short throwers. They were no problem for me a just dumped a hyzer or flick over the top.

Got lost a couple of times. Trying to find tees 3, 11(started to play 13), 17, and 18. It is right on the sign, but many of the trails were not well defined. A fence behind 13 may help with the problem there and just simple trimming in the other places.

Tall grass! If you miss the fairway you will be hunting. Don't know if that is a pro or con.

Other Thoughts:

A fun track to play and I will play again next time I am in town.

Might be cool to play hole 8 to the mound as an alternate hole.

It was dry when I played, so the creeks were not a problem. When flowing they will add to the course for sure.

This course is early in it's growth and should only get better.

My score:
3,2,3,3,3,3(ob),2,2,2,3,3,3,4(missed 24 footer),2,2(200 foot fairway ace),3,2,3.

Challenging Course, Look out for the Rough and the Water! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 25, 2011 Played the course:once

Pros:

My first Arkansas course didn't let me down. I headed out printed out map in hand (the one you can get from this site) but when I got there tee signs and a large map were up. Score!

The fairways are nicely mowed, and you start out with a 500+ foot hole before launching into a series of tight and technical holes. Many of the holes (10 I think) have water in play. If you throw into the mossy pond-hole on #7 or #14, goodbye disc!

There are plenty off <300 feet holes that still are fairly difficult. A great risk / reward factor on almost every hole.

Also, there are two elevated holes! Several of the holes of multiple tee pads and pins. Chose your own distance is nice but a little confusing for a first timer. I'm sure no prob. if you are with a local.

Cons:

Only 1 bench (hole 3)

No trash cans

Holes 13 - 15 are a little confusing. I had a hard time figuring out which of the decently close pins I was supposed to throw for.

Tee pads are hard plastic and several and bucking and not close to flat.

Other Thoughts:

I threw +3 my first time threw. I felt lucky not to lose a disc.
