The Unami Disc Golf Course combines intermediate challenge with advanced level frustration. The course starts in the back of the little park just beside the hockey rink. You start off with a bang and this is also is a preview of what lies ahead. # 1 is a 681' bomb downhill on a medium sized fairway. The DGA basket, with the hole # on top, is then set back about 80' to the right of the fairway. This hole is fun but also takes a certain skill level. There is a marshy rough on your right.

The tee pads are rubber mat. There are small metal signs giving you the hole #, distance and par. # 2 then plays back at 387' with the basket sitting about 50' up the hillside.

# 3 is slightly uphill at 225'. The fairway is tight and the right side is a steep slope down to the creek.

# 4 plays 215' into an abyss. I couldn't visually locate the basket. The terrain below seems to be a fire swamp of some sort. In the words of the immortal Abraham Lincoln, "There is no ~_£[^§|£ way I am throwing my disc into that crapola." There are about a million of these skinny saplings growing up here just ready to reach up and slap your disc down into the marshy, boggy, swamp.

# 5 then plays 354' up through a very tight and technical fairway.

# 6 is 310' down a tiny little fairway. The skinny saplings are seemingly everywhere. To make the hole even more unpleasant, the basket lurks behind a huge rock.

# 7. I never was able to locate the tee pad. I think I was sick the day they taught jungle navigation at Ranger School. I did somehow stumble upon the basket, however.

# 8 is then a 306' playing through a pretty area strewn with large boulders. If I hadn't been so mentally beaten down by now, I might have enjoyed this hole. Also, if I had a spotter or two with me.

You finish with # 9, a short, 196' throw straight up a steep hillside. By now, the only thing I needed was my bed, my binky and a good sports therapists.

This course definitely lacks the fun factor. Suffering beatdown after beatdown is not my idea of fun. These nasty saplings are everywhere and stand 3' to 20' and are an ever present aggravation on most of the course. Add the nasty little stickers vines that are everywhere trying to tear your legs to shreds and I couldn't get out of here fast enough. The 2nd fairway was very marshy. Boots recommended.

Unami Creek Disc Golf Course should come with the following warning label;

WARNING! This course is not suitable for families, recreational players, mature recreational players, girlfriends, the handicapped, players playing with one disc, newbies, anyone in short pants, and definitely, no wives allowed.

So that leaves as the target audience here...16-35 year old serious players who drive 350' and want to be challenged and who have a sponsor.

The area down near the creek was really quite lovely and peaceful. The rest of the course could some major thinning, especially the saplings. Throwing blindly hole after hole into disc grabbing saplings cannot be anyone idea of a fun time. Spending countless hours hunting for your discs cannot be fun.

There aren't many courses that I wouldn't frequent if I lived close but this one that I can't imagine playing again no matter how close I lived. So the question is? How many masochist's live in Quakertown? And how many of those masochist's are Quakers? Masochistic Quaker Disc Golfers? That has to be rather small fraternity.

That awesome little course, Bootlegger's Cave is less than four miles away. That's where I'd be playing.

Holes 1 and 2 are unplayable. The grass is way too long. Only good to play in winter when grass dies.

Lawn needs to be mowed between holes 1 and 2. I wish this course had 18 holes and grass was mowed. There is plenty of room for more holes and if it had a few longer holes this course (and dog legs) would be great as well as over water holes. It is decent after the first 2 holes for a 9 hole and if it were expanded could probably attract more players.

This is not what you expect from a nine hole course. The holes are challenging.

Some people say the signs are great. I was able to find all 9 holes with only a little bit of trouble. The basket on 4(the water hole) was moved. Many reviewers commented it's a great hole, but that was in the old position. The sign does not reflect the basket change (it is back left of the original position). Finding hole 3 was a little difficult. Many of the fairways are tight, but fair. I often would throw a midrange up the middle and play for par on severlal holes. The basket locations are great on several holes, around large rocks, protected trees, etc.
This is a challenging nine hole course. When I played it it was muddy and overgrown (in the fairway and rough on 2 and 3 (only 1-3 seem to have grass). This course is tough and the best play on several holes is play for par (1 and 9 are duecable, 4 used to be in the old position). I would recommend going to Knockamixon instead of Unami, as it is real close.
