A Must Play in NE Iowa 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:May 9, 2009 Played the course:once

Pros:

Definitely a must play if you are in the northeast Iowa area, the nicest course around. A full 18 hole course with a variety of terrain ranging from 500+ ft open prairie drives to tight doglegs to tiny fairways going through very wooded areas. Mostly flat with a few hilly shots right at the beginning. Signage is accurate. Plays through a prairie and through a wooded ropes course. Par is challenging, only par 3s and par 4s. Good baskets.

Cons:

The course seemed as if it hasn't been used for a bit, the grass was very thick. The prairie area that borders the long holes is easy to loose a disc in. The tees are grass and are sometimes right next to the last hole's basket. At some spots the baskets are bunched together and it can be unclear where to be throwing or the basket you should be throwing at is actually hidden in the woods and you can end up throwing at the wrong one, but once you play the course again it should be clear. One basket had a tree fallen in front of it.

***UPDATE***
We made a trip to play this course on 9/26/09 and hole 2 is not there. They have replaced it with a tennis court. They destroyed a great course and it doesn't seem as if they are fixing it anytime soon.

Other Thoughts:

If its your first time playing here, make sure you are tossing at the right basket, spend time to check so you don't end up throwing at the wrong basket, which is very easy at times. Hole 5(I think) and hole 18 are both 500+ ft par 4s open drives, very fun to play.
