I think I have a new course to play consistently 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 5, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

- Well laid out course IMHO.
- Decent player spacing.
- Good use of elevation.
- A good length for challenging beginners and advanced players alike.
- Friendly players and understanding of a threesome worth a7 year old player on his second round of disc.

Cons:

- A Monday during an extended holiday weekend may not be the best time to try the course for the first round.
- Keep an eye on your disc after some throws. The grass and scrub bushes like to hide your disc.
- I spittle have read that there was group play going on before we got there.

Other Thoughts:

This is a fun course and I am really excited to play all 18 holes. I think it was really cool how supportive the other players were of my son playing even though he was super slow. Wicked excited to have an amazing course like this to play close to home.

Super fun skill-builder 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 4, 2018 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Extremely fun course. Very few large trees and no wooded areas or stand of trees. I've been loving this type of course lately to focus on dialing in new shots and new discs, great way to improve your game rather than chopping trees all day. Just enough shots over 400 feet and a few creative basket placements makes this course fun and playful. The designers did an excellent job of taking a fairly boring landscape and turning it into a fun course. Hanging out with the prairie (sp?) dogs pretty entertaining as well.

Cons:

Navigation is a little difficult. It took me a full round to figure out where I was going. You can see all the tee boxes and pins easily, but figuring out which one you walk to next is challenging. There are some creatively built stones with engraved information at each tee box, but if you don't know to look for it you'll miss it. Small signage should be placed at each tee, especially now that the rock engravings are wearing away.

I played my first round at 9am, by the time I was starting my second round at 10:45 the wind was beginning to come up. I imagine the wind comes up early and blows hard on this course, as it is open and fully exposed to the surrounding plains and large reservoir right next to the course.

Other Thoughts:

This course is extremely fun, think of a more challenging version of Johnny Roberts with longer holes and a more deserty vibe. Beautifully maintained grass sports fields are all right there, allowing you great place to warm up and let some drives fly.

Very Good Course-Lot's of Shots 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 13, 2017 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Village Green is a super clean and well laid out course. I enjoy playing this course every time I am there. a few long holes and some fairly technical shots. The course has bathrooms, well kept up most the year. Tee boxes, signs and even scrapers to keep your shoes dry.

Cons:

When the wind blows there, very tough to play. Because the course is mostly dirt, after rain it can be really muddy.

Other Thoughts:

The course is a definite challenge for newer players, a good run for more experienced. Mile High Disc Golf Club holds Sunday tags matches there as well..
