Private backyard relaxation, and a beer fridge in the garage 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Nov 24, 2013 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Private course. Good balance of longer open holes and shorter wooded holes. Decent elevation used thoughout some wooded ridges and a 50' drop down to the creek bed. Mix of baskets and some good ones like portable Discatcher Pros.
The ability to play safari and "BOB picks" holes extends the fun factor. Play holes that bring you back past the garage and restock at the beer fridge!
Holes range from 575' to 175' and some safari holes stretch out some par 5s with uniquely defined OB at strategic locations which will challenge Blue level players.

Cons:

It's not secluded paradise. On a private 13 acre parcel on a private road with 9 other residents. The field border neighbors to the east who you can see an hear while playing, and cars drive along the road which bisects the property to the 5 houses further down the road.
It's a makeshift course without marked tees, fairways that cross, and holes which share baskets, but the design fundamentals are sound, obstacles are strategic, and balance and variety are great!

Other Thoughts:

This is a private course owned by a welcoming disc golf addict (me). Starting the round off from the beer fridge with an amazing selection of great microbrews sets the tone for the round.
The course will continually change and evolve. New baskets will be added and holes created as money rolls in. The intent is to have 12-15 Innova Discatcher Pro portable baskets onsite with a defined 18 hole layout.
The goal is to use this private course for fun league-end and club member events and activities.
Not actually the best of the best yet, but that's the goal. Constant improvement, stretching the limitations of new designs through trial and error here, and pushing the envelope in a fun private setting will help Watch It Bend course design always grow an improve while becoming one of the top design companies around.
It is always a work in progress, my test facility for my Watch it Bend disc golf course design business. Rating comes from the intangible fun factor involved in the private setting and options for safari style play. Still, all hole designs are solid for Blue level players and variety is great for a small tract of land. Being private, I can overlook the crossing fairways, shared baskets, and unimproved tee areas. The variety is really good, and the only place you can appease your distance craving in Marquette (so far!).
UPDATE: Now 27 holes on 18 professinal INNOVA DC28 baskets. More wooded holes and still a half dozen 300-600' holes across the rolling meadow for airing it out. Lots if fee-good wooded tunnel ace runs, and still a handful of characteristic WIB punishing wooded holes. Tees to be leveled and improved throughout 2015 as layout finalizes.
