Wedgeworth North DGC is a short track that plays around the neighborhood pool, tennis courts, & park. It has natural tees, and four DISCatcher baskets. Each basket is used three times throughout your three laps around the little community center.

The course seems like a great resource for getting the residents from the neighborhood some experience with the sport, as it is not a very time consuming course. It is a beginner friendly course, but could be used to practice approach shots as well. I brought a single Aviar Driver and it was more than adequate for the whole course.

For the most part, the tees do a decent job mixing up the angle you take to drive to the basket. The only time a hole was merely a slightly longer version of another hole were Holes 1 & 5.

Most of the course is fairly open, and is made up mostly of straight shots. Holes 4, 8, & 12 all play through a wooded section that creates interesting shots.

The only elevation on the course were the berms that separate this area from the backyards of some of the neighborhood houses. This means you are often throwing towards their yards. It also means that this area is likely to hold water reasonably well. There was a small patch of mud/water when I was there, and it had been a couple of days since the last major rainstorm.

A couple of the tee markers were tricky to find. Hole 9 in particular, has almost been swallowed by the bush that is growing next to it.

If I were at all concerned that the course would see enough traffic for it to be a problem, multiple groups playing the course would likely create back-ups.

The course plays in a C shape, and the walk from the fourth basket back to the first one is a mild inconvenience.

The course gets really close to the other recreation areas/playground at times, so if this area is busy, it could be a concern.

Wedgeworth North DGC was designed for the local families and kids to have something to do, which is awesome! If you live in the neighborhood and are just looking to get in a quick bit of practice after work/school - this would be a great resource for you. If you're looking for a major course to play, this probably won't satiate you. For all of the reasons listed, and the fact that you likely have to be a resident to play here - I am giving the course a 1.0 rating. Though this course seems to serve its purpose and is well maintained. Hopefully the families who live in the neighborhood actually know what the baskets are for, because it would be a lot of fun to have this nearby.

Favorite Holes: 4 & 12

Wedgewood North took its name too literal when it put in a disc golf course. 12 'holes' and 4 baskets are all crammed into a little space. But' it's great if you live there.
- The course has four baskets with three tee locations is what makes up the 12 holes. Holes #1, 5 & 9 play to the first basket, #2, 6, & 10 play to the second, and so forth.
- This is 100% meant for kids and casual players. On that mark, the course nails its goal. Most holes are wide open, unobstructed aims at the basket. All four holes to the final basket (#4, 8, & 12) play through trees. The other 9 holes only have a smattering of trees.
- The course is short. I don't think any hole plays longer than 200 feet. I threw the junk discs that stay in my truck (Cro & Rhyno) and reached each basket without needing a run-up.
- The biggest benefit of the course is the use of open space as a practice area. Throwing from #1's basket to #3 you've got several hundred feet of space to practice throwing. In that sense, use these baskets for mid-range shots, approach shots, and putting.
- I've only driven by, and finally played, this course on weekdays. I've never seen anyone playing. Maybe there are some players on the weekend or after work. Otherwise, there isn't a lot of traffic.

There are two big issues here, both having to do with the layout.
- The 12-hole layout is cramped into a tight spot. I sincerely doubt there will ever be a backup. But, if there are multiple players, there will be delays due to the whole three tee pads to one basket thing.
- The other issue, which really is the deal-breaker for this course, is that it plays as three 4-hole loops. #1 plays along the far left of the field; #4 finishes the far right of the same field. After #4, you walk across the parking lot to tee off on #5, then again for #9. It's not a long walk, but when you walk the entire length of the course to play it again, it's not appealing. I'm guessing there's a safety factor for this decision instead of having people throwing in opposite directions. So, if you're ever playing this course seriously, be aware.
- A couple of the tee markers are missing and/or hard to find.
- Course borders the back yards of homes. If you go past the first three baskets, you are in a backyard.

Wedgewood North is a hard course to take seriously. It's fantastic for practice. It's great for kids and families. It's not a 12-hole course.
- If you are looking to play a full round, your best bet is to create a safari layout, zigzagging back and forth to the baskets.
- If you are looking for an 'ace', come here. Granted it's not a real ace, but it's still a confidence booster.
- I spent more time making the walk from the last basket back and finding the correct tee marker than I did playing.
- I'm guessing this course is for residents only. I initially discovered, and finally played, the course because I have a customer in the neighborhood and had time to kill waiting on them.
- This is not a destination course. This is not even a full course. But, if you want a quite place to practice, this is a good choice. Very close to the interstate.
