Not Worth It 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 7, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

-Quick to play
-A good practice course
-Good for beginners
-High winds in fall and spring, take that as you will
-Concrete slabs for tee-offs

Cons:

-Short fairways
-High winds in fall and spring, take that as you will
-Confusing/poor layout
- Not much thought seemed to be put in this course

Other Thoughts:

It's hard to know your even at a disc golf course when you pull into the parking lot, you see no baskets or signs. After a brief walk over a small hill, there they are but I had no idea where to start. I found myself on 8, then 9, then 8 again (why not, I'm walking past the tee), then I found two and then 1 which seemed to take me over to 5. Just crazy and confusing.

So avoid all this by just veering to the east side of the park where tee 1 is. There are very few obstacles and trees in this park so the wind rips through pretty fast especially in the the fall and spring.

Will probably not go back since there are much better courses in the area.

Baskets in a field 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 31, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

- Course that's less than a year old. Always nice to see new courses, no matter the difficulty.
- GREAT addition to an already busy city park. Park has a long walking path, gardens, benches, playground equipment, half court basketball, a large splash pad (heavily used), a shelter, and bathrooms.
- Course is pretty well set aside from other park happenings, aside from the walking path.
- Nice concrete tee pads, and good baskets.
- There is some varying distance here, between 180 - 365 feet.

Cons:

- The course is wide open, with no obstacles. A few trees here or there on holes, but nothing to make this course worthwhile. There are trees and options here where they could have made this into a more formidable layout, but they obviously chose not too.
- No signage to speak of, and the tee pads aren't labeled. Finding the first tee required me walking out the #1 basket to ensure it was the correct one. FYI, #1 pad is directly behind the octagonal shelter house.
- Very windy the day I went, which is probably abnormal. However, the south and west confines of the park are nothing but miles of farm fields, so there's really nothing to stop the wind if it's out there.

Other Thoughts:

- Great to see this as an addition to a nice city park. It's just unfortunate that time and money was spent on nice baskets and concrete pads, but the course layout wasn't made the least bit challenging or interesting.
