Beautiful park, disappointing course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Feb 6, 2008 Played the course:once

Pros:

The park is very beautiful and huge! The "course" is a pretty walk through the woods. Once holes 1 and 10 have been located it's fairly easy to follow the track from hole to hole.

Cons:

The park is huge there are no direction signs to the course. If you don't stop and ask park staff you'll probably never find the course. Even when you do find the part of the park where the course is contained you could still wander around for an hour before you find the first hole.

Evidently the park won't allow any trees to be cut. As a result, many of the holes have small "pimp" trees in the middle of the fairways that should be taken out. (Many of the holes could be sweet mini-golf par 4's.)

Many of the baskets are up on narrow sandy ridges. While some of these placements may be picturesque they will quickly become major erosion problems and are already safety hazards, particularly on the descent sides.

The "tee pads" are nasty old carpets that have been flopped down on unprepped ground, often on uneven group with tree roots.

The park has wonderful opportunities for disc golf, but the course does not realize them.

Other Thoughts:

Don't be a dirty discer. Leave the course cleaner than you found it!
