This is a nice public golf course that appears to have converted an old "executive 9" to disc and foot golf. The layout does not share the same area as the ball-and-stick golfers, but the downside is that it doesn't appear to get much attention from maintenance either.


The layout itself is an "out and back", nine fairly long holes using old golf fairways and tees going downhill, and then coming back up about halfway through. It's wide open and fairly long, but they've tried to accommodate for distance by adjusting pars (par 4's 465', 455', 510, par 5 936')


The signage is minimal (just the hole number, and the distance - in yards), and signs are damaged or missing on many holes. Some of the tees are from old golf tees, most are just find a spot next to the sign (or the post that used to hold the sign). The baskets are good white Patriots.


At its very best, this is a long, wide open course that offers nothing in the way of true disc golf. You're just throwing your way through open areas uphill or downhill to the next basket. Dull, showing minimal effort to convert a ball course.


But it appears they've stopped mowing some of the fairways. The final holes are entirely covered by knee-deep, tick-friendly grasses - from the tee sign all the way up to, including, and past the basket (check out my picture of #8).


Two decent 18's (Indian Park and Lime Bluff) are relatively close by. Go play them. Don't bother with White Deer.
