Pros:

.

+ Excellent silver DGA Mach V baskets (topped with flags), large signs, grass tees, benches at every tee. The signs don't illustrate the hole, but there's a large QR code connecting you to the church's disc golf website where there's a map. The map is also available on scorecards at the first tee.

+ Wide open property with a few holes dotted with (mostly very young) trees. The hole lengths vary: two are under 200' and one is over 300' (the 380' par 4 hole #12), but most of them fit in the mid-200's.

+ The first fun hole is #4: tall grasses have been allowed to grow on either side of the fairway, and circling the green. There's plenty of room, but it's a nice touch to have actual rough to shape a hyzer over.

+ Hole #5 also incorporates some tall weeds along the right, and a treeline along the left. Another almost-300' hole, with a bit of risk reaching the basket - tucked slightly right behind all the grasses

+ At first glance, the short #7 (200') feels stuck-in. You're throwing over a small hump to a basket set in the open to the left. But the basket is only 10' away from a farmer's field bordering the property - and the scorecard notes that it's OB. Brings in some risk when going for the basket.

.

Cons:

.

- A few spots where throws risk hitting other players. The fun hyzer on the shot #7 encourages a line that throws directly over the 8th tee. Holes #11 and #12 are side by side in opposite directions. In both of them you are throwing toward the edge of the other fairway, and could be throwing directly into oncoming players

- The grass tees are fine (not enough play to wear out the grass yet), but it's not always clear where to line up to tee. The sign is standing in there and there's nothing telling you which side they'd prefer you to tee from.

- The OB farmland affecting a few holes is a great touch, but it could use some definition of where the actual OB line is. Adding just a few white stakes will help with any confusion/discussion among cards (and seeing the stakes from the tee will add a little pucker factor!)

.

Other Thoughts:

.

~ The "extra" six holes are longer (mostly par 4's and a 5) and they are created by throwing from existing tees to different baskets. It's a good touch, but could mean chaos on busy days

~ The primary 12 holes are named. Not on the tee signs, but check the scorecard (and be prepared to recite the Boy Scout Oath…).

~ Are these baskets a little low, or did I grow 6 inches overnight?

~ There's nothing "bad" about Whole-in-One. It serves both beginners and slightly more experienced players very well. Intermediates and above will probably get bored throwing stock hyzers.

~ Very clever design, given the constraints that they're working with. They use property lines, parking lots, and natural features (a mound, a ditch) to give holes some character. A lot of small trees planted that will grow over the years and make these holes a little more interesting.
