Not a fan of the 18 tees to 9 baskets

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 25, 2023 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

-Concrete Tees
-Baskets OK
-A couple of risk/rewards shot around the stream

Cons:

-You'll need a map to find the right tee pad
-Not a fan of the 18 tees to 9 baskets
-A few trees, the stream to work around, not much else
-No signage other than a map at the start, info stamped on tees
-Can get busy on weekends
-Playground, BBall Courts, Walking path all in play

Other Thoughts:

Windflower Park hosts a reasonable DGC in the east part of Norwalk, IA. This is an 18 tees to 9 basket set-up. Not a fan. What makes it more tricky here is that the tees have the info stamped in them, so locating the next tee can be tricky, especially without the map. You can walk all the way to find that this is #12 instead of #4. This can also be a busy park, with a shelter, basketball courts, a playground and the local pool all within the park. The play is pretty vanilla. A few trees, a small stream to work over, some long some short, keep it in the park along the edges. The steam gives the most risk/reward, especially on #9/#18. I'm not saying a fun round can't be had here, but especially when busy, heading for the "back 9" might have you running into others. If this was in my neighborhood, I would play often. It is not one to travel for as there are many other options in the area. With that said, I probably won't play this one again.

Decent city park course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 10, 2008 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

This course is a decent use of the land there. It has good tee pads and baskets. It was fun to play.

Cons:

I feel that the course design is very dangerous. There is a shelter by the first two holes that you have to be careful of. The skate I think is gone, but not sure. It was in play as well. There is a small creek that runs through the park which has a very steap edge to it that could make it potentially dangerous as many basket are placed with a few feet of it.

Other Thoughts:

The course itself, could be a great 9 hole course if they would redesign parts of it.
