WRONG Way Woods

Reviewed: Played on:May 29, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

-- Baskets. They are mostly temps from different companies (most are Black Hole Pro), but there are baskets.
-- Land is decent for disc golf. There are trees and minor elevation. A creek/river borders the property, but it was basically dry Memorial Day 2023.
-- Hole 4 is good. It's the only hole with an actual tee pad. The hole is 298 feet downhill that requires a low throw under trees that guard the basket. This also happens to be the only permanent basket.
-- Practice basket (or baskets).

Cons:

-- No map or identifiable tee pads except 4 as noted.
-- Baskets are temporary, and many appear to have been moved based on the UDisc maps, but It's hard to know if this was by design or random people (perhaps not even disc golfers) moving an obstacle they knew nothing about. The basket for hole 8 was inside a fence. Or perhaps that was a random basket, and hole 8 has no basket.
-- UDisc shows 9-, 15- and 18-hole configurations but not the 11 holes listed here. The 18-hole layout is "almost complete" as of six weeks ago, but it's hard to see that.
-- A few tees have one flag a few inches off the ground, but many had nothing to mark a tee pad.
-- Maintenance. I've seen worse, but the grass was pretty tall in some spots on holes 1-9, nearest the building and stage. The holes in the woods have been described by multiple people as unplayable.

Other Thoughts:

-- Most recent review on UDisc (two week ago) gives is 1.0. It's hard to disagree with that.
-- This course is on the property of Buck's Backyard (a bar/restaurant/music venue), but the business has basically nothing to do with the course, according to employees. A local player talked them into letting him install the course, and he tries to keep it up, but that appears to be a losing battle.
-- Restrooms and water are available inside.
-- Course is technically free to play, but the expectation is that you will "donate" a few bucks via Venmo AND spend money in bar.
