Woodland Park is like three courses in one. Each hole has one great pin placement and three very different tee pads. The moderate elevation in this park is well utilized for both drives and putts. Large trees guard the fairway and basket on all but one hole. Water comes into play on 9 holes, if you count the small creek and drainage ditch. From the blue tees you drive over water twice. I will let you decide which hole is the signature hole, there are at least 5 candidates.

This course is in a well kept park. The red and white tees have crushed gravel tee pads and the blue tees are concrete. The tee signs are good, but at the wrong tees (red). There are signs to direct you to the next hole. Bathrooms at hole 1 and 7. Lots of drinking fountains (idk if they all work).

There are long walks between some holes, but you can just follow the signs. The tees hold water after it rains. There are very few trash cans, so leave with what you came with.

This is a great course for all players. Fun and challenge with lots of shot variation. Spotters (or swimmers) are recommended on some holes.

This is a family park, there may a play at the pavilion, or a concert on the stage, so watch out for other park goers.

This is a really fun course! There are a ton of different shots on this course. There are 3 high quality teepads on each hole (2 p-gravel and 1 concrete. Each teepad changes the look and challenge of the hole which is great. Replayability is awesome for this course....
The park is gorgeous....admittedly, I played it at a time of year where you won't have much foot traffic in the park so I didn't experience the issues others discussed. There are a bazillion very mature trees that are throughout the course and make each and every placement crucial. The elevation changes are refreshing too.
Initially I found it odd that the front 9 seemed so much longer than the back 9, but I actually appreciated it by the end of the round.
Really appreciated the quality signage throughout.

The flow of the course is pretty rough in the first 5 or 6 hles but it dramatically improves after that. The small signs after each basket saved our butt. Not sure I EVER would have found #2 tee without them=)
A few of the tee shots from the pro tees were stupid (all the really bad ones were VERY early in the round. You shouldn't have tee shots where there is no good shot available.

Love the course! Can't wait to go play it again...it reminded me alot of JB with water...but not quite as diverse a course as JB.

The cliff hole is very cool! A good variety of holes. Good use of land.

a little difficult to navigate if signage has been vandalized. A lot of other activities around the course.

Fun. As good as almost any in StL.

This course has a wide varitey and offers a challenge to all skill level players with 3 sets of tees. This would be a great home course to have with the many options to play.

The terrain is very good with nice rolling hills and water coming into play on several holes. There are some very fast greens on the side of hills. This is a moderately wooded course. Check the video links below to get a feel.

The Blue tees have nice big cement tee pads.

Has tee signs.

Since I last played many signs have been installed to help aid navigation of this course.

I would rate this course at a 4.5 but the navigation and flow is very difficult. I felt the course designer did a good job utilizing the land and making the holes the best they could but sacrificed flow for them.

The red and white tees are framed and filled with limestone. I heard these will be cement in the future.

great use of terrain and elevation. good pin placements and use of water to make you think about your throws. Play as tough or easy as you want with 3 tees for each hole.

not much flow to course, had to follow some locals to figure out where to go and play the holes in order.

A map would be great,

-facilities include bathrooms, water, shelters, adequate parking, some garbage cans but not by the tee pads
-three sets of tees that not only change the length of the holes but also the looks, elevation and water hazard)
-lots of OB to punish inaccurate or long shots
-good use of elevation
-water hazards on a lot of holes (depending on tee pad)
-diversity of shots required: straight, anhyzer and hyzer

-It's not clear which parking lot to utilize the first time playing it (it's the second lot by the bathrooms)
-HEAVILY used by nondiscers (shelters, playgrounds, bandshells, baseball field, pedestrians, fishermen. not everyone knows what you are doing, especially the fishermen, b/c a lot of the blue tees throw over the lake, so be careful
-The layout is a little bit screwy (after 1 you have to walk down the hill, cross the bridge, then up the hill depending on the tee pad used. After hole (five?) you have to walk up the road behind the baseball field to six, after 8 you have to cross the guard rail, up the hill to 9) some signage for navigation but not sufficient.

The shots are really high quality at this park, especially from the blue tees, it's a shame that the layout is so screwy b/c this is has better quality shots than a 3.

I would avoid this park on nice summer weekend days, as it will be a zoo.

The course plays through a large park with lots of hills, and scattered mature trees. Some areas are more heavily wooded and make for more technical shots, and some brush comes into play as rough. There is a nice lake that comes into play on a few holes and adds a nice challenge. The hills are used very well to make the design interesting, and keep the holes varied throughout the course. There are a number of baskets on slopes which makes for an added level of difficulty.

There are tee signs showing the hole layout and the three tees for each hole. The different tees usually gave totally different looks at the holes, and made for very different levels of difficulty which is nice.

There is a really nice variety of holes here, with everything from ace run holes to more difficult and technical shots. The land is used well to really make a set of fun and interesting holes that challenge many different parts of your game if you want to get birdies here.

The navigation on this course was pretty bad in spots. I don't like having to wander around the park looking for the next tee, and there are definitely places where this was necessary for a first time player. I would definitely recommend a map or guide the first time you play here, and that will make the course much more enjoyable.

There were a few places where the course played very close to heavily used areas of the park, and this meant there was some pedestrian traffic on some holes. The other park users seemed polite and aware of disc golf, but you'll still need to watch out for people wandering on to some of the fairways.

This course offers a lot of different challenges, and would be a really nice course if it had enough signage to take care of the navigation issues. The multiple tees mean that it is accessible for beginners but can still offer good challenges to more experienced players. There are places to lose discs here, so watch out for the lake and some areas of thick rough.

This course was a lot of fun to play, and I would definitely recommend making a stop here. If possible, play with a local or take a map, otherwise expect to spend time trying to figure out the course layout.

A great variety of uphill, downhill, left, right, straight shots. Bombers can easily earn a few birdies (if the course is played as all par 3's from the amateur tees, see below)

Integration into the surrounding park is superb. Incorporating the water adds a significant element of challenge, and satisfaction, when you keep your discs out of the drink.

Signage between holes to point you towards the next is good, (but could be better).

Plenty of parking.

A few holes have the pins placed on sloping greens. A good challenge and another testament to how well the park space has been used.

Flow from one pin-to-tee is a little weird, but the provided signs do a good job of keeping you on the right track.

No indication on any of the holes of what the par for that hole is from any of the tees. (Local wisdom suggests that playing from the amateur tees makes the course all par 3's, but an indication of such would be very welcome).

No signage whatsoever by the park to point you towards the parking area for throwers. I spent 20 minutes wandering aimlessly before i gathered where the first tee was.

The course map that IS provided at the proper parking area/first tee has no point of orientation; there's no indication (such as an arrow or a compass pointer) to show you where the first tee is. VERY confusing.

The layout of the course, as suggested by another reviewer, is rather awkward.

Not nearly enough trash cans. (I counted only 3 when I played)

A fantastic course which i thoroughly enjoyed playing, but more signage (and trash cans) would earn it a higher rating.

If you're making a trip to St. Louis, this course is highly recommended. Not far off the major traffic artery (Highway 70), and a pleasure to play. Top 5 in the St. Louis area.

UPDATE 10/20: Gotta knock off half a disc because the litter problem at this course is STILL abysmal. No trash cans have been added in the almost year since I first wrote this review and the litter problem is only getting worse; watch out for all of the busted glass if you end up in the creek between 3 and 4's fairways.

This course is situated on rolling slopes, which give the impression as you play of crossing over onto islands. The lake and it's arms come into play on many of the holes.
With three different tees for all but a couple of holes, this course can be played in a variety of styles.

Sacrificing discs to the lake goddess. And some of the tees are hard to find from the previous hole.

Hole 1 is by the pavilion to the left of the restrooms. It plays L-R across a sloping gully that sends errant rollers towards the lake. From the pin, cross the bridge and go up the steps to the next pavilion for next Tee. (You will pass the tees for hole 10)
Hole 2: Red and white tee are beside the pavilion. Blue tee is down into the trees to the right. From the blue, throw up an incline into a small clearing. Pin is nestled behind two mature evergreens. From pin, cross parking lot to next tee.
Hole 3: Throwing from an elevated position into a broad fairway dotted with mature trees. Pin is at top of a rise that slopes down behind into the lake. From pin, go left across a small bridge and up slope to next tee.
Hole four: From the tee, the pin directly straight ahead. The ground slopes down to the right towards a creek and the previous fairway. The road and the electrical facility are OB and in the way, as are a couple mature trees. From Pin, look left for next tee.
Hole 5: Several mid size and mature trees dot the top fairway. Past them, the ground slopes down and levels out. The pin is almost behind a mature tree at the bottom. From pin, go to side road and walk around the left side of the baseball field for next tee.
Hole 6: open field throw (almost). Pin is almost straight in front of tee, but trees line the back of a fenced off baseball field to the right, right along the optimal throwing line. The pin is near an OB road at far side of field. From pin, go left across a small parking lot. Next tee is to right of bathrooms.
Hole 7: Ace Run. Trees to the right, one or two that can be avoided in middle of fairway. Pin sits in a cove of trees. The downside is if you run at it and come up short, your fade will probably plant you in the rough. From pin, walk back up to the bathrooms for next tee.
Hole 8: Mature trees run the length of the fairway. Pin sits at bottom of a small slope that leads to more water. From pin, go left and cross road. The next tee you see is 18's teepad. leading from this tee to the left is a trail that takes you to 9.
Hole 9: Brush all along the right of the fairway (with lake directly behind the brush), the ground rises on the left. Few mature trees on this side. Pin is on far side of this rise, where the ground slopes back down towards the lake which sits behind the pin. From pin, go left, cross the small bridge and pass the basket for 3 to get to the tee for 10.
Hole 10: The blue tee has you throw across the lake. The red and white are on the other side. From the blue, throw across the water L-R. The pin is right there, begging for an ace run. From pin, go right to find next tee.
Hole 11: Blue tee is nestled in a cove of foliage behind a small waterfall from a storm drain. Ground rises to the left toward the main road (OB). A couple mature trees block the fairway. Closer to the pin, which sit at the top of a rise on the far side of the fairway, trees surround it on the right. From pin, cross the parking lot and go down the service road to find next tee.
Hole 12: From tee, pin is mostly straight ahead, near the road and at the top of the rise that runs along the left of the field. Many mature trees are along this rise. From the pin, cross the field. The next tee is straight across from the pin.
Hole 13: A number of trees early in the fairway, then open. The pin is at the far side of the field near the OB service road. From pin, go up service road to next pavilion and tee.
Hole 14: The Vando Mando. Blue tee has you throwing through an opening in scrub trees, across a chasm filled with more scrub trees and up a slope topped with mature trees. From the top of slope, the ground descends into more scrub trees. The pin is to the left of the tee at the bottom of this slope. From pin, go right towards lake for next tee.
Hole 15: Lake runs the length of fairway on left. Several mature trees and a utility pole to the right. There is a channel to throw through, but it's close to the lake. Pin is slightly right of tee. Ground slopes a little to the left at the pin. You can see the next tee from the pin.
Hole 16: To the left is lake, to the right is an upslope and more scrub trees. Make it past the trees and the pin is in a cove on the left of a small stand of young trees. From pin, look left for a set of stone stairs that take you up to service road. The next tee is on the parking lot.
Hole 17: Throwing from below fairway level. The fairway is the top of a hill. Trees to the left hide a sharp drop to the service road. To the right a slope that rolls down to the lake. The pin is at the far end of the plateau with a good drop behind that leads to the service road and the lake. From pin, go right, cross lake using the road to find the blue tee for 18 that you saw earlier. Red and white are on this side of lake.
Hole 18: Throw across lake. Ideally, you want to be up on the second slope across the lake for a good line to the pin. The pin is left of the tee. Behind the pin, the ground slopes downward, toward the lake.

Woodland Park is a very pretty setting, with water and a playground, as well as picnic areas and a ball field. The disc golf course wraps around the property, putting a hole in every nook and cranny they can.
- There is plenty of elevation changes, both from the tees and up to the greens.
- Multiple shots play across or near the water.
- If you like ace runs, this is a course for you!

- I found no course map, and as such was left wondering around a few times. A few signs, which would have helped I imagine, have been busted.
- Being such a nice park there is plenty of pedestrian traffic to negotiate. Most seemed content to stay in the pavilions, but on a weekend it could get interesting.

Woodland is a fairly short course, yet still plenty challenging and extremely fun.

This course has made great use of the land available, and includes excellent elevation changes and several holes with some very tempting water hazards. Three tees on every hole also allow the course to be meet the needs of any level of disc golfer from newbie to pro. The combination of natural terrain and man-made obstacles (pavilions, baseball fields, etc.) really require you to bust out almost every shot in the bag. All in all, very challenging and a great course overall.

A little confusing to navigate for first time visitors, even with signs marking the way.

There are some really nice rolling hills that are used very wisely. The course has a wide variety of shots, with a lot of elevation changes and OB water on several holes. There are also many spots of OB from park roads & parking lots. Most hole are semi open, but changes in elevation are what make the layout so challenging. There are 3 sets of tees with some very unique shots from each that help this course set up very well for all skill levels. It can be a very difficult course from the blue tees.

Find a course map. Without one, you have no chance of finding all 18 holes. It has one of the strangest layouts I've ever come across. For example, hole 1 is physically located on the back nine. You have to play one, then walk over a bridge to the front nine. Once you are on the front, holes 5,6 & 7 are so far apart that without a map (or a guide) you have almost no chance of finding them.
