Decent Short Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 17, 2020 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Its a quick hop on I-5 to get there from portland, so thats nice. The first two holes are fun as they go through the forest and have some tree obstacles. All the holes except 9 are pretty short.

Cons:

After hole 2 alot of the holes seem pretty similar.

Other Thoughts:

Theres not much bad stuff or good stuff to say about this course really. Playing this course every week would probably be pretty boring.

Thanks To The Copier Folks At Xerox For Providing This Little Gem Of A Course! 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:May 19, 2018 Played the course:once

Pros:

This is a wonderful beginner/recreation course located on the Xerox property. It's great to see a business which opens it's property to the public. The Xerox course is nine holes playing through the woods and open lawn areas. They didn't try to build a championship course but instead focused on having an activity for their employees.

The course has the old school fiberglass signs. It's kind of a deja vu moment seeing these fiberglass signs in their new state. I'm used to seeing them on courses when they are old and vandalized. The pads are natural with a front board. You can see from the worn areas that this course gets some usage. The baskets are Mach II's.

There's nothing real unique or fascinating about this course. It's just right for those players just learning the games or families or seniors. Distances are generally somewhere around the 200' range excepting for # 9 which stretches out to 392'. # 8 at 229' was just a pretty little hole throwing to the basket tucked back into the mature trees.

Cons:

A course without Cons? Yes, it could be longer and more challenging. The pads could be concrete or perhaps paved with gold or maybe lemon drops. There could be an expresso machine or they could provide weed for all players. But if you're playing here, this course is probably a great match for you and your current ability level.

Other Thoughts:

Once again, thank you to the Xerox Corporation for letting us share in their disc golf experience here. If I lived close, I would love to enjoy a few, stress free rounds each week. Introducing new players to disc golf is always fun and while, I don't view this course as the perfect "Bring the newbie to course", it is an excellent teaching venue and satisfies the golf addiction of a certain skill level of players, of which I happen to be one.

Nice Office Park Course 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jul 23, 2017 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

-This is a fun, 9-hole course open to the public located at the Xerox campus in Wilsonville, OR. The first two holes play through woods, and the the next seven through a lightly wooded field next to the Xerox office building.

-The course was well-designed with a great variety of holes. #1 is easily the most difficult, a tight 272 foot anhyzer through woods. The course features four holes under 200 ft, but the designer expertly placed the baskets behind trees to add a challenge factor. To top it off, hole 9 affords an opportunity to crush, at 382 feet.

-The DGA tee signs were simple but did the job. They showed the OB, mandos, and trees.

-Some courses at office parks are located dangerously close to parking lots, roads, and buildings. Not the case here.

-There's a large field past hole #9, perfect for field practice. However I was told this area is extremely swampy in the winter.

Cons:

-For an office park course, this is excellent. Just a few small gripes.

-The tee pads are natural. Not a problem in the summer, but in the winter they are sure to be a muddy mess.

-I'm never a fan of Mach 2 baskets. Just not quite enough chains. I had one spit out and two almost spit outs in 9 holes. Perhaps they were on a tight budget, but I think forking over a couple extra dollars for Mach 3s is completely worth it.

-Hole 9 finishes about a third of a mile from the parking lot.

-It appears blackberry bushes were cleared on holes 1 and 2 in preparation for the course. Unfortunately, they are already starting to grow back.

-Holes 4 and 5 have trees with branches only 3 feet above the ground. Some pruning would be nice to make the ceiling a bit more reasonable. A hundred bad shots would do the trick too :)

Other Thoughts:

-The parking lot is right next to the second tee, but not the first. You'll have to back track about 400 feet toward the entrance. Print a map to help you find your way. But I'm not complaining. Hole #1 is a great hole.

-This is a solid course, with potential. With upgrades of concrete tees and pruned trees, it would earn at least a 3 average rating.

-Now Wilsonville has two nice 9-hole courses, in Xerox and Memorial. Both are less than 5 minutes from I-5 and worth the stop if you're driving through. I enjoyed my round here, and I'm sure I'll be back.
