Small Park, Short Course, Welcome New Players

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 30, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

+ Four short holes cleverly added to the Township Recreation area. Three of them have elevation change and narrow alleys through thick woods. Framed dirt tees filled with wood chips, good Dynamic baskets. Excellent carved wooden signs with hole maps.

Cons:

- The first hole is open and flat, but it runs very close to the playground area. The third hole is wooded with a right angle dogleg up and to the left. The woods are so thick and the dogleg so sharp that it's designed as a 238' par 4

Other Thoughts:

~ First tee is next to the tennis court, parking spaces directly across Mahoney Street. Because of the problematic layout of hole #1, you really have to play when nobody is in the area of the playground - or you just have to skip to the second hole

~ Overall, very welcoming to new players. It's short, but it includes the challenge of throwing steeply uphill, a wooded sharp dogleg, and down a narrow chute. Anybody will quickly graduate to other courses, but it's a good place to start
