Best Disc Golf Shoes?

I use the ASICS Gel Scram 6's except during winter and I absolutely love them. I pretty much never slip ever and they feel really good on the feet after playing all day.
I'm sure they're great. I've played tennis on running shoes too without issues. I'm just thinking about what is most optimal.

I suppose trail running shoes have to be stable for going in all directions. Nice light weight. Good to have the traction on rough terrain.

I had a pair of Adidas Terrex Swift R2 GTX gifted to me in size 10, which is my usually size, but after a couple rounds I realized they're way too tight, specifically on my right foot, so probably good for somebody 9 - 9.5. So today I picked up a pair of the Swift R3 GTX's. They fit true to size, perfect width, good support, lighter than the other boots I was wearing, and the tread is solid. I'll definitely update here after playing a few rounds in them.

Side note; I now have a pair of Terrex Swift R2 GTX size 10 in 9.5/10 condition that I'd be willing to let go of for around 85$ if anyone is interested lol Just send me a message - willing to take combinations of plastic and cash for them. Pictures available.

What will your next shoes be? I just had yet another pair of Merrells tear up prematurely, though it's the Vibram sole this time. Not sure where to go next. Adidas tend to be too narrow for me. I've had mixed results with Salomon.

I saw a pair of Moab 2 WTPF on sale for 68 dollars so snatched those up. Mainly got them for early morning rounds since the dew soaks my other pairs. Was going back and forth between those and Saxony GTX something or other

I feel like I solved this for myself, and the solution is Goodwill.

I can get a pair of random athletic shoes that I will beat the **** out of for about 8-10 bucks.

Because I tear up some toes, and also some stitching. And sometimes get them real muddy. Or fully submerged.

Keen Targhee II on sale at Marshall's on line for $60. Mine just came in. Very comfortable so far just wearing around town. Not sure when i will get to play next.

I've been using Adidas Swift R GTX exclusively for a few years. Love them, but they do run a little tight. I buy a half-size bigger than normal.

But just for the hell of it, I decided to try something new, and asked Santa Claus for some Asics Gel-Venture 8 Waterproof.

1. Comfortable! Like, supremely so, right out of the box. Unlike the Adidas, which take some breaking in.
2. Less than half the price!

I'll have to wait and see how long they hold up, but for now, I'm thinking I might stick with these for a while It's like BOGO compared to the others. The only thing they really lack is the cool speed-lacing system, which I do really prefer. Those never come undone (old Union joke: Shoelace makers of the world, UNTIE!) - but again, for the money...I may have found my new go-to.

I'm pretty much stuck on Asics Gel trail runners anymore, and I like the Venture a lot. never used waterproof (prefer good socks), but I like the fact that I can find pretty good deals on them as I have small feet.

I don't know about "best" because people's feet, needs, preferences...hell, we're all different.

That said, when Gander Mountain was going out of business, I bought a pair of Hi Tec Yosemites at some low liquidation-type price. FWIW, Gander Mountain filed for bankruptcy in March 2017, so my boots gotta be coming up on their 5th birthday.

In that time, I've played countless rounds, in pretty much every type of conditions you can imagine, and other than the water proof membrane long since forgetting how to keep my feet dry, the damned things are still going strong. Nothing's separating, laces still good, upper is still good, and still comfy to wear for a few rounds or long walks.

Don't ask what I paid on clearance some 5 yrs ago, but it was cheap, and I can safely say "best shoe purchase I've made to date."

But I like to change shoes on multi-course road trip days, so I just picked up a pair of Merrell Yokota 2 Mids for about $40 at Marshall's. If they do me half as well, I'm happy. :)

five YEARS?!

five YEARS?!

Other than Gander Mtn was going out of business, I can't say when I bought them.

Google says they filed for bankruptcy in March 2017. So I figure it's gotta be close to 5 yrs, which "feels" about right going from memory.

I'm not a toe dragger, and don't wear the same shoes for DG all the time, because I like to vary shoes between rounds. But I can safely say I've logged more rounds in those Hi-Tec's than any other two pairs of shoes I've ever owned.

Some people are a hard on shoes. Some arent.
Guess I fall into the latter group.

Here they are. :|

There's a bit of heel wear, but there's still black on the heel. It's not worn through.
