I don't know about "best" because people's feet, needs, preferences...hell, we're all different.
That said, when Gander Mountain was going out of business, I bought a pair of Hi Tec Yosemites at some low liquidation-type price. FWIW, Gander Mountain filed for bankruptcy in March 2017, so my boots gotta be coming up on their 5th birthday.
In that time, I've played countless rounds, in pretty much every type of conditions you can imagine, and other than the water proof membrane long since forgetting how to keep my feet dry, the damned things are
still going strong. Nothing's separating, laces still good, upper is still good, and still comfy to wear for a few rounds or long walks.
Don't ask what I paid on clearance some 5 yrs ago, but it was cheap, and I can safely say "best shoe purchase I've made to date."
But I like to change shoes on multi-course road trip days, so I just picked up a pair of Merrell Yokota 2 Mids for about $40 at Marshall's. If they do me half as well, I'm happy.
